The President Is 'Keeping Score'
Chicago politics has moved into the White House.

"Don't think we're not keeping score, brother." That's what President Barack Obama said to Rep. Peter DeFazio in a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Caucus last week, according to the Associated Press.

A few weeks ago, Mr. DeFazio voted against the administration's stimulus bill. The comment from Mr. Obama was a presidential rebuke and part of a new, hard-nosed push by the White House to pressure Congress to adopt the president's budget. He has mobilized outside groups and enlisted forces still in place from the Obama campaign.

.......

Members of Congress should also worry about how Mr. Obama is "keeping score." He is steeped in the ways of Chicago politics and has not forgotten his training in the methods once used by Saul Alinsky, the radical Chicago community organizer.

Alinsky's 1971 book, "Rules for Radicals," is a favorite of the Obamas. Michele Obama quoted it at the Democratic Convention. One Alinsky tactic is to "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." That's what the White House did in targeting Rush Limbaugh, Rick Santelli and Jim Cramer. (The president's press secretary, Robert Gibbs, went so far as to lash all three from the White House press podium.) It may also explain Mr. Obama's comments to Mr. DeFazio.

After all, Alinsky's first rule of "power tactics" is "power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have." Team Obama wants to remind its adversaries it has plenty of power, and it does. The question is whether the White House will wield it responsibly. The jury is still out, but certain clues are beginning to emerge. "Don't think we're not keeping score, brother," even if said with a wink and a smile, isn't quite the "new politics" we were told to expect.

This guy is nothing but a bullying radical thug, as evident by his love of Saul Alinsky, his mentor, and his radical tactics used to attack Rush Limbaugh, Rick Santelli and Jim Cramer. Santelli's been real subdued and Cramer has become a shill for bHo and things will just keep getting worse. He's so dang arrogant, he doesn't even try to hide it, cause he knows, he's already bribed the public with their own money.

His hatchett boy Geithner is already looking at what CEO to fire next. Who gave those 2 the authority to interfere with private industry and then who after that?

Inside Obama's bank CEOs meeting

“These are complicated companies,” one CEO said. Offered another: “We’re competing for talent on an international market.”

But President Barack Obama wasn’t in a mood to hear them out. He stopped the conversation and offered a blunt reminder of the public’s reaction to such explanations. “Be careful how you make those statements, gentlemen. The public isn’t buying that.”

“My administration,” the president added, “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”

I don't know what group of people he is referring to and although I think games are being played and we're getting the short end of the stick, I haven't considered violence at all. We got laws to cover this type of crime, but you got to investigate and I can guarantee you, if it happens, it'll only be cursory, because bHo's own folks have got their hand in the cookie jar.

Pretty arrogant remark, especially since the pols, Frank and Dodd for example, are just as bad as the bankers. His and the previous admin are just as much at fault as Congress and oh yeah must'nt leave out the pressure that ACORN had to push for those ninja loans. A heck of alot of fault to be spread on this. Pot meet Kettle.

Braver man than me....I'm still watching the crazy man in North Korea. As soon as he is done, I will rest easy. I've probably got numb to my TSP thing since it is in "G" and I have made money elsewhere. But since I get only two moves a month, I can't "try" to guess/time the mood.

Have a great weekend!!!

This is unbelievable.

Obama Wants to Control the Banks
There's a reason he refuses to accept repayment of TARP money.

My answer: The government wants to control the banks, just as it now controls GM and Chrysler, and will surely control the health industry in the not-too-distant future. Keeping them TARP-stuffed is the key to control. And for this intensely political president, mere influence is not enough. The White House wants to tell 'em what to do. Control. Direct. Command.

Fast forward to today, and that same bank is begging to give the money back. The chairman offers to write a check, now, with interest. He's been sitting on the cash for months and has felt the dead hand of government threatening to run his business and dictate pay scales. He sees the writing on the wall and he wants out. But the Obama team says no, since unlike the smaller banks that gave their TARP money back, this bank is far more prominent. The bank has also been threatened with "adverse" consequences if its chairman persists. That's politics talking, not economics.

Think about it: If Rick Wagoner can be fired and compact cars can be mandated, why can't a bank with a vault full of TARP money be told where to lend? And since politics drives this administration, why can't special loans and terms be offered to favored constituents, favored industries, or even favored regions? Our prosperity has never been based on the political allocation of credit -- until now.

What are we a 3rd world country run by some tin horn dictator, that will destroy any public or private individual that dare stand in his way or express a desire not to the tinhorn's liking? This is nothing but naked socialism at work, by a thuggish socialist akin to Chavez, I can't believe anyone would defend this action unless they enjoy the thought of what this country is turning into. And yep, Bush got the ball rolling. bHo is showing his true colors and him and his comrades are doing their best to destroy this conuntry and the Constitution. Defend and obfuscate away.

Obama Mulls ‘Assault-Vehicle’ Ban to Spur Car Sales
by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace (2009-04-27)

Since the Obama administration’s talk of banning so-called ‘assault weapons’ has resulted in a huge spike in semi-automatic weapon sales nationwide, the White House has recently begun a covert ‘whisper campaign’ suggesting the president might also ban U.S.-manufactured cars and trucks with fully-automatic transmissions, now dubbed ‘assault vehicles’.

President Obama reportedly hopes such chatter will give a much-needed boost to U.S. auto sales.

“These fully-automatics are the weapon-of-choice in the vehicular-manslaughter industry,” said one unnamed White House source. “The automatic transmission allows the killer to accelerate rapidly without the manual process of clutching and shifting gears. Assault vehicles murder roughly four times as many people each year as do firearms. If you include suicides, cars still kill nearly twice as many people compared with all types of guns.”

The administration source also noted that while people with criminal records make up the vast majority of gun-murder victims, ‘assault vehicles’ kill indiscriminately, murdering 39,800 Americans in 2008 alone.

“In most homicide-by-firearm cases, it’s one crook killing another,” said the source. “But automatic transmissions turn law-abiding citizens into killers of other law-abiding citizens, including women, children, seniors and innocent pedestrians.”

Publicly, the administration maintains that it supports an individual’s ‘right to keep and be borne upon wheels’, but the sophisticated whisper campaign is designed both to curry favor with the anti-car lobby, and to boost the economy by driving panic demand for fully automatics.
