NEW WEBSITE IS NOW ACTIVE- SIGN UP NOW.

You asked “is partial withdrawal where I go for changing the monthly payment?”

Answer: I don’t know for sure, but that makes perfect sense. I remember having to select “one-time withdrawal” somewhere in the cycle of select buttons. It makes sense to me.

I just charged my monthly payment last month- I didn’t want to risk waiting until the new system was going. I turn 62 in August- I wanted it working before I lose the FERS supplement. I’m going to wait a couple years before claiming SS.

I don’t know for sure- that makes sense.

Good luck.

I now have done some stuff in the mobile version of the new TSP page.

And some stuff in the regular desktop version.

I highly advise — USE THE REGULAR DESKTOP on a full size monitor.

the regular desktop- it is much easier to use, and pages are better to work with.

Good luck.

A quick word about “The Window”.

I just spent ten minutes looking around , and I’m comfortable in saying - DON’T use THE WINDOW just yet. Give it a little time.

The link to the FEE SCHEDULE did not work for me on my iPhone screen. Only part of the information on fees can be seen. That’s important to consider. Also- I’m still trying to figure out reviewing the different funds. This is going to take a lot of research to figure out how to pick and buy through the window. Much more time needed to fully understand everything. That’s ok. I should have the time.

My advice: WAIT on the window.

Wait till the bugs get worked out on the web page.

Also- the “Window” isn’t a government TSP window at all.

It’s a government-bid private contractor who is running his own site. And so you have to move your money OUT OF TSP first, and into the “window” account, “. and then, a day later, that transfer will be allowed to actually buy a fund /etf at the window.

Net effect- is that your first move will take two days to accomplish, not one.

Then, to cash out, you will have to take two days if you want to go back into a TSP fund.

Just starting my look at the window. More later. Good luck.

Thanks. FYI, regarding your final FERS Supplement payment, I called OPM recently to verify this...since the monthly payments are paid in arrears, your final FERS Supplement payment will come with your OPM deposit on the first day of September.
In my case my final FERS supplement will come with my July 1st OPM annuity deposit, so I'll want to make the TSP change in August due to the shift of the TSP monthly installment payments. I assume you got the TSP letter in April telling everyone that all TSP monthly installment payments will be made on the 15th of every month starting this month. That sucks since I was very careful to time my monthly payments to come on the first of the month. I like having all money coming in early in the month, and going out late in the month. Leave it to the TSP to screw that up, but I can live with the middle of the month. When I eventually start collecting SS I think that will come during the 3rd week of each month (it's based on what day of the month you are born). The weird thing in my case is that I think I'll get two payments in June basically. The one I would have gotten on June 1st came early on 5/23 (as they'd forewarned in the letter, they sent them early due to the shutdown) since as far as they're concerned the payment date is on the 31st each month (but my bank doesn't get it until the 1st of the following month). So now the one I would have received on July 1st (but with a 6/30 payment date) will come on 6/15, I think, we'll see, I'm confused...
One good thing is that this shift in the TSP installment payments to the 15th will fix the problem where I wasn't getting any TSP installment payment at all in January each year, and I'd get two in December. I think they did that for tax reasons. Now they should come every month on the 15th.

What a horrible "improvement". The new website may be different, but in no way is it better. Why did they waste their time, and our money changing the website. All we needed was a good phone APP, and a few improvements to what we had last month. And they provided NEITHER. Better is better. Different is not better, and that is all we got. "Hey...we were asked to remodel, but lets rearrange the furniture and charge them for the full remodeling cost. We will shut down communication so nobody can complain, and tell the TSP overloards everyone is happy and we have recieved no complaints". That is what this feels like.
Why did they eliminate INTERFUND TRANSFERS and who decided changing the name was OKAY with the users ? 20+ years of nomenclature and syntax precedent and this contractor decides to change everything and never consults the users.
Sorry folks, but I am afraid we are in for a bumpy ride. The Chat Robot is a complete idiot, so dont think that feature is going to be of much help either.

I am one of the many (I believe) that couldn't just go in and create and account, so must now dial in and sit for hours listening to the crappy elevator music. Has anyone actually succeeded in reaching the Help Desk folks and got their account set up? I haven't seen anyone say this (I could've missed it) and am interested to see if this actually has/can be done.

First post here...

I was excited on Tuesday to see the first post on this thread announcing the new site was up. I had one failed attempt to create a new account but then I succeeded getting set up and logged in. Before the system paused IFTs, I went 100% G fund due to all the volatility building toward the end of May, so I was ready to get back into the C and S funds.

I did the IFT (or reallocation or investment change or whatever it's called now) on the website after noon on Tuesday and got no response at all. No email confirmation, just a screen stating the changes would happen after the market closed on 6/2. I printed the screen. All day Tuesday and Wednesday, I assumed the new site wasn't actually live and I'd have to try to execute the IFT through the Thriftline or wait for the site to be live.

Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and found an email from 11:09 last night confirming my investment change and saying it "will be effective after market close on 06-02-2022"! Market close was hours earlier, but when I checked the website this morning it looks like we are good to go.

Honestly, I'm hoping that while IFTs were paused on the website TSP participants like me might have sheltered a big chunk of the $70 billion we've got collectively invested in the G fund and now everyone is going to come blasting back into the C and S fund. Imagine if the market launches up from a bottom just from federal employees all getting back in! That gives me a big smile. Good fortune everyone!

That happened to me as well (see post below); and the solution, for whatever reason, was to do it on a cell phone - and what you will find is that last page is not your last. There's more! You set a thriftline PIN #, whatever that is, two security questions, and at least one multi-factor authentication, which you must then use to continue. Then, oh boy, you get to sign in - and it did indeed work.

Now the fun really starts - it takes about 5 minutes now to do an IFT (why call it an interfund transfer when you can call it something else to confuse? "change your investment" is now the term. you click and click, and eventually get to the place where you can enter an allocation, which you then can apply to the balance, or the balance and future contributions (you used to have to do these separately). The little square where you enter the numbers, is not blank, it has a "0" in it; and you have to magnify to get to the left of the "0" so you can delete it and put in your allocation. Then you submit and get "transfer successfully completed, with a confirmation number. Now it's time for another term, so what does TSP call the action this time? is it "interfund transfer?" nope. how about "change your investment?" nope again. We call it "action: reallocation among funds?"

Don't study the site too much. It will time you out after about 5 minutes or less (whatever it took to write the first paragraph of this post).

Give yourself at least 10 minutes before the IFT deadline to get through this mess; that is, if it is up and running when you try.

Thank you. This worked.

When I tried to set it up on the computer, it wouldnt move on to the pin number page. I was only able to do this on my IOS on my Iphone.

What a pita...

Rhettreaux,
Welcome aboard. Lots of great people here to learn from. Looking forward to more posts.

I wanted to reduce my risk level so I did an interfund transfer. According to the website everything is set. Going back to the interfund transfer page it says that I have a pending transaction. I guess time will tell if it actually works.

I think we've had more comments on the elevator hold music than the help desk. :)

Welcome Herbie!

It looks like they are slowly getting some bugs fixed and updating the data. My account is now showing an updated return thru 6/2. Unfortunately it also shows a year to date return that only considers the action after May 26. I wonder if that will ever get fixed or if it's something we will have to live with this year?

It's a little tough to navigate but it may just take some time to get used to.

I am still disappointed that, of all the upgrades to make, adding 5000 mutual funds was the least of my desires. I would have preferred Maybe 5 new funds (like a Nasdaq fund, metals, crypto, energy, etc.) and then the changes we really wanted like adding an extra monthly IFT or two, something most of us have been banging the table on, and / or extending the deadline closer to the close of the stock market.

It was a tough task and unless they were having issues that we weren't aware of on the server side, probably way too much change for what we get, although some of the admin stuff like withdrawing money, etc., does look much simpler.

Looks like they have abandoned the DL or Passport image upload thing that was killing my account set up attempts. New path this morning had me answer some interesting security questions that I seemed to have gotten correct. Access to my account has been restored. Thank goodness.

Getting to the Grudge match stage - took 2hrs 15 Min on phone to reach 1st person - admitted their system was giving them (Helpdesk) problems - referred to "Supervisor" and on hold again - so far at 3.5 hrs mostly listening to the music....
Would really like/need to be doing other things.

I can confirm two days. I initiated a transfer into mutual window yesterday. This am the money was in the MFW in a money market fund, and I was able to request a purchase. Put 25% of my TSP in BTCFX. I'm 28 so I'm a high risk mfer.

The funds we have now are fine. They should have just given us 2 more IFT's for the month and everyone would have been happy. It sure would have been a whole lot cheaper.

Got this from someone who successfully logged in after having some difficulty. Passing it along...

FYI, for those having difficulty with the new Log-in advise them to try a different browser. I couldn’t get logged-in using Microsoft Edge but when I switched to Google Chrome everything worked smoothly.
