I'm beginning to wonder if the people managing TSP have any ethical or professional standards at all.
I am going to try the Board of Directors again.
Then I will email my neighborhood list for a recommendation of a lawyer, because I need to get some money out for medical care and prescriptions.

Thank you for this information. I think it warrants a congressional inquiry too. I will call that number.
They obviously did not do testing.
They obviously did not provide for a way to back out of their flawed system.
And they've done nothing to ameliorate the problem--such as getting more people on the phone lines and figuring out what they could fix now and how.

Created my account last week. Tried to IFT today but could not. Screen just kept churning. I said it before and I'll say it again. They can add all the bells and whistles and fluff to this site but the ONLY thing they can do to improve is give us more IFT's. The 2 IFT per moth limit is archaic in this modern day world. Get with the times TSP!

Must have been a temporary "glitch" but I was able to successfully IFT just now (I logged out and back in again). For any TSP admins who may be reading this thread I still maintain that the 2 IFT per month limit is a huge detriment to this outdated system.

I emailed Eleanor Holmes Norton about what's going with TSP.gov and got a callback pretty quickly. Hopefully she and others will communicate with the Board, and hopefully the Board will do an intervention--finding and assigning someone with the skill and strategic experience to manage a recovery. What I find most amazing is that TSP appears not to have implemented the ability to roll back to the original site, given the current debacle (due to grossly inadequate testing).

More IFT's would be great except the excuse they use is it would increase our share costs and it wouldn't be fair to those that don't make a lot or any IFT's. They figured out a way to charge us for Mutual Funds, DUH!!

It's amazing how different each experience has been. No consistency.

I'm sure that makes it hard to fix glitches. I'll take a consistent error over a sometimes correct answer every time. I am still holding off on signing into the new system and hoping some of the major problems are fixed before I get there. Thanks to all of you who are reporting the problems you are encountering!

Go and find a few funds on the window that allow frequent trades. Rydex funds RYOCX (Nasdaq 100) comes to mind. They have high fees (RYOCX 1.3%) but you can trade them every day if you want.

Be happy you have two. T Rowe, Fidelity, Vanguard all have rules to prevent frequent trading of mutual funds which allows them to keep costs low.

T Rowe:
Rowe Price Funds' excessive trading policy (“Policy”) states that during any 120-day period, you may not exceed one buy-and-one sell or one sell-and-one buy occurrence in any individual T. Rowe Price Fund. If you exceed this limit or if your trading activity involves market timing, you are in violation of this Policy.

Fidelity:
We monitor the number of roundtrip transactions in shareholder accounts. A roundtrip is a mutual fund purchase or exchange purchase followed by a sell or exchange sell within 30 calendar days in the same fund and account.

Vanguard:
If you sell or exchange shares of a Vanguard fund, you will not be permitted to buy or exchange back into the same fund, in the same account, within 30 calendar days.

Wanted to post my experience. But, where. So many threads. I chose this one. No particular reason.

In spite of what I posted about waiting, I created a new account on 2 Jun 22. I did not have to go through the photo thing and answered a few questions about past things. Most of the answers were no. Created a new user name and password, security questions and entered the requested mobile phone number.

I was able to log in each day after that. Until yesterday the site asked me the same security question. Today it asked for a code sent via SMS. I waited a while and noticed a button “send code”. Clicked it and got the code almost immediately.

Each day there seems to be a little more information available. Not great yet. I miss the old account balance page that showed number of shares and value.

Glad I missed out on the send a photo part. Every site I have ever been to that tried that; it did not work.

I have not tried any IFT. The site shows me G fund which I am in and C fund which was my last payroll allocation in 2018. Seems there is no way to change that as it must be done by payroll, which no longer exists. Amounts seem to be correct.

Good Luck all

I was finally able to set up an account but had to use a different email from any used in past to make it work and that was the only way to get around the message that kept popping up about my email already in use! The security questions are a bit weird, so I just made up anything that met the number of characters requirement and wrote it down. I did notice my balance differs between the home page and one of the underlying pages by under $70.18, so that is concerning. I will need to check it to the last balance I downloaded before TSP shut down, to figure out which one is correct as I did go 100%G fund beforehand.

I waited until 9:00pm and accessed it with computer using Windows 10 and used Edge browser.

OK, so I had a go at setting up the new account. Thanks so much to all who have been plodding thru this and taking all the hits. I worked thru it slowly and I was careful to avoid selecting the "Mail" option for the setup pin. Bottom line, I got in and was able to poke around.

I believe I used my work email on the previous site as my primary email, so when it prompted me for my personal email, that's what I entered, and I used my work email for the secondary. Not sure if that helped with the duplicate email error that some have received.

I also went in using Edge on my government work computer which is on Windows 10 Enterprise. I'd like to think that should help as far as browser and system compatibility at this time, but maybe it's just dumb luck.

I did not perform an IFT, but I went into the screen and then backed out so I could see the process. As others have said, it's a learning curve. I prefer the other system, but I'm also quite comfortable with the other system as well.

One thing I liked - I have a loan and I liked seeing the breakdown of my account balance and the loan balance on the page when I click on account summary. They kind of stack it so I can get a nice total right there.

I'll keep playing with the site, and when I'm ready to break from my investment paralysis, I'll have a go at an IFT.

Thanks again for the heads up!

I can live with 2 ift. I mean we have right? Of course a third one changes the game and wouldn’t complain.

But what’s inexcusable is the noon deadline and expect us to be future tellers for what a fund will close at by 4pm.

We should always know what we’re transferring at least reasonably.

I forgot to add fwiw Windows 10 home v21H1, Google Chrome v 102.0.5005.63

Just setup new account. No hiccups. Took less than 10min. Used phone # on file but did change emails. Went to login and the SMS code never came so used a Security Question instead. Got in. Time to explore........

So I worked through a partial withdrawal today. Here is my report.

...

In about half an hour. Instead of two weeks.

I was able to make a request to pay out $25k.

It made me declare if I wanted $25k before taxes, or after taxes. (Good question).

And it gave me examples of each.

I wanted $25K after taxes, so I had to tweak the import number. Hey, that’s pretty cool.
It also asked about my spouse. Asks her email address. Huh? Ok.

In about ten minutes I figure it all out.

Not too hard. Now it sends HER a formal notice she’s knowing we are withdrawing money.

The only problem here is that I know my spouse can’t open they email until she gets home tonight- about eight hours away. So- will this work? I hit SEND. It told me if everything is ok it should be processed before June 4.
...

Your experience was better than mine. I'm curious if your wife's consent document amount matched your request.

I tried to do a rollover of my entire Roth TSP balance to my Vanguard Roth IRA. I've got about 10% of my total balance in Roth TSP and the remainder in Traditional. After figuring out all the options to pick everything seemed to go OK and it said I requested a rollover of the full Roth TSP balance. Then my wife got the DocuSign consent email saying that I was withdrawing the entire taxable traditional balance - after which I broke out into a cold sweat and panic, not knowing what the system was doing in behind the scenes. Fortunately, I was able to cancel the transaction by going back to the withdrawal partial distribution menu, where a cancel button appeared. I called the Thriftline and waited on hold for 2 hours and got to a rep that said it sounded like a system problem, and she would have to forward me to another group. Then after another hour on hold someone finally answered said she checked with her supervisor and there was an issue already reported on this. She said I would have to get forwarded to the rollover group to do the transaction manually. After almost an hour on hold waiting for this group my call was disconnected - 3 hours and 50 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

My request was for $35k. About 10% of my balance is Roth, the rest is regular. I asked for the money to be taken out proportionally from both.

My wife got the email notifying her of that, but I didn’t ask her exactly what it said. I’m going retry sure it identified only the money requested to be paid- NOT the full balance.

I do know that when the money actually came into my bank account- it was broken into two deposits- one for regulated, and a small one for the Roth money. So it gave me money twice. And an accounting is now in my TSP payment history.

And I also got another email telling me afterwards that the payment has been made.

I just created my new account, and it went pretty well. The only problem I had was trying to come up with a new password. I got a notice asking if I was still there and wanted to continue. Still can't see anything past 5/26/22. Hopefully that gets resolved soon. I'll find time later to start exploring the site. I used Edge and Windows 10.

The whole world is now paying 0% commissions so their excuse doesn't fly anymore, but if they want to charge a reasonable fee for additional IFTs, some will pay.

Tonight I created my new tsp.gov login. The new website is absolute garbage. Cumbersome to navigate.
