According to small business advocate we are facing a great year for earnings. I hope so and kudos to those in today who earned a bundle!

Finally decided to register for this MB, after watching it for a few weeks. Y'all are a great group of folks. As for the "I" fund performance today... That's quite nearly a keeper for the month, if it doesn't get profit gouged tomorrow. I missed it; sitting 100% G.

Much thanks Greg. I sure miss those 4 fund tickers that were always at the top; below the TSP Talk Header on the MB's.

Is that an El Camino? That is so 70's. I thought those pickup-cars were the coolest when I was in grade school. :D

Famous El Camino Owners
  • The right-hand-man of David Koresh owned a 1968 SS-396 El Camino. It was partially crushed by a BATF tank during the siege of his cult's complex in Waco Texas. The El Camino can be seen in numerous videos taken by news crews during the siege.
  • President Bill Clinton reportedly owned a 1970 El Camino at one time. Speaking to a group of GM employees, Clinton joked, "It had astro-turf in the back. I don't want to tell you what the astro-turf was for.".

  • Country singer Alan Jackson, famous for his song "Crazy 'bout a Mercury" and the recent "Crazy 'bout a Ford Truck" TV commercials, apparently likes El Caminos. He recently owned a 1971 SS-454.
  • It was reported that Frank Sinatra had a 1972 El Camino. It was recently advertised for sale at $50,000. .
  • Muscle car collector and former baseball player Reggie Jackson had a collection of rare El Caminos. Unfortunately, they were totally destroyed in a fire at one of his storage facilities.
  • Singer Dwight Yoakam is rumored to have owned a 1978 El Camino. He used money intended for body work on the El Camino to help finance his first recordings. He still has an El Camino, but it is unknown if it is the same one or a different one. It can be seen on the back cover of his album "Just Lookin'n For A Hit".
  • Motorcycle stunt man Evel Knievel used a white 1964 El Camino to haul a pair of his Triumph motorcycles.
  • Drag racing Hall of Famer Bob Smith ("Jet Car Bob") once owned a 1986 El Camino.

Yeah, I missed those today too.
A year ago, they weren't there.
Somebody suggested them to Tom and added them. Maybe he'll be able to add them soon.

You weren't the only one. I put them at the bottom of the page. I didn't like the way they looked up top on this new board.

Tom

In all likelihood I will maintain at least a 40% stake in the I fund thought the year and that will be solely based on the anticipated weakness of the dollar and the strength of the overseas markets.
The remaining 60% will be allocated based on the Price of oil, hurricanes, anticipated fed rate remarks, Iran, and statements by Tom, Shark, Birch, Spaf, Tech, Robo and a few others.
I could have asked for a better return in 05 but why make the gods angry. With all your help and a lot of luck, my TSP interest earned was 16.75% for the year
I did much better then I ever thought I would.
Let’s do it again.

Looks like it should go down to me Spaf....yesterday could just be a baiting day....eat the bait and then get hooked.....but who knows.....spike sure surprised me....

Market Theory....

I have a theory....lets have some feedback...

Some want to sell on a big profit early in the year so they can wait 15 months to pay taxes on the profit.....they run it up early....take profits and market drops....

Comment:

It seems so bogus that the market jumps on news that everyone already figured out before Christmas.....the Feds were going to put a halt to the rate gains and everyone already knew that....bogus bogus bogus.....

The stock funds are maxed out.....only fund that isn't other than the G is the F fund....which should start making some gains.....

Too many reasons for the market not to go up this year.....even though a good economy could be made by changing some business costs..... things need to change to the down direction......energy, interest rates, commodity prices.......but they haven't....

News is Bogus!

Hi Techie!! I believe your completely right on the bogus thing. Here is my theory the market was developed to make someone money and there are two sides (bear) & (Bull). They fight all day to make a buck and basically for show! Then have an inside meeting as to what to do the next day! Afterwards they hit the corner bar and converse on how to catch Cowboy in his stocking feet and flat footed! They send out all types of media to play with in hopes he bites on the wrong information. Cowboy converses with Mother Earth and Father Sun and watches Spaf's Tea Leaves. Jumps in with the Shark and swims with the technical stuff and when he sees a bear he trys to shoot it and when there is a bull he rides it. I beleive to jump in now maybe a mistake as the funds are suddenly at their peaks but if they break this resistance all in is the name of the game!

Problem is.....when the game of this hype is over its slick on the way down .....

I'm expecting the dollar to gain strength soon....and the I fund pays for it when this happens...

Like u think I got a spike chart! Wish I did!

Slick, yes!

That is where the timing comes in at! I am thinking the markets need some rest and we may see it soon and I just hope I am not there when it goes that way. Yesterday oil was up not a good indicator according to the Shark. The winners are bathing in the sun light and the G boys are all waiting for a drop and the euphoria is now driving the market. I'll watch but I am not afraid to play! Setting F fund at the moment in the sun. Play for pay!
