CountryBoys's Account Talk

Here's my simple experience from yesterday evening while I was at the grocery store. When checking out there was an Army soldier from the 101st Airborne Division in the line behind me waiting patiently while the cashier ran my coupons. When I was leaving the parking lot he was standing out front waiting on traffic. As I drove by I rolled down the window and hollered "101 all the way" and he responded "thankyou sir". It was just a small moment of recognition from one unknown veteran to another.

I'm so extremely fortunate to have a job where I can extend my recognition to so many -- over and over -- each and every day.

Here's my simple experience from last week. When I got home my daughter is in the kitchen - sitting at the table - crying (upset and flustered) talking to my wife.

So my antennas go to full alert -- and I'm 'needing to know what's going on'.

My daughter is a 'Magnet' -- she really is and she's the most amazing woman I could ever imagine (she be 18 next week). By 'magnet' she is the kind of person all people are drawn to and feel very comfortable with.

She met a Vietnam Vet -- who warmed up to her over several days. He never talks about Nam with anyone -- seriously -- so when he started pouring everything out to her (it was amazing). Anyway -- and this is HUGE -- especially for Carrie - it was NOT the war and all he had to go through that was the hardest and most difficult aspect ---

-- it is what he had to deal with when he came back. It is the way 'our Nation' and his own people regarded him and treated him.

So my daughter - the apple of my eye - cried for YOU - Birch and for everyone that paid the price - that gave it all - the true cost of sacrifice.

Here I am sitting in the doctor's office a few weeks ago with about six other people waiting to be seen and in comes this WWII Marine wearing his cap and carrying his portable oxygen - he was definitely in his 80s. You would have thought he was a young female drug rep clicking her heels because the office staff all knew him and took him right in. Now that's the respect I like to see.

Thank her for being there for him Steady. And yes she showed true emotion for all of us relitive unknowns.

No rage just facts, I know what being raged at is like, of course that is my opinion. ;) And some folks think opinions aren't worth much, and one person who said this shocked the heck outta me, I guess ya find out about the real person. Luckily that small matter of voting is also an opinion, maybe they'd rather not vote and have a dictator. Hmmm. A small rant, not a rage or My font would've continues to get bigger and anatomy would've been include in the rage.

I guess these folks think they are better than they rest of us and I guess bribes go along way to getting outta the perfect health care plan. If this was such a perfect plan, whay do so many people want waivers to get outta it?

I agree, CB. If a business entity fits the size requirements then the health care plan should apply. Waivers inevitably create inequities.

I also agree that the world needs less rage. :embarrest: Opinions, even small rants, are much more productive.

And the majority opinion was heard loud and clear in the election. Let's hope the next two years can create the progress that everyone hopes for.

Thank you for letting me visit your home. I like the rocking chairs on the front porch. They look very comfortable! :)

All temporary, and most likely apply to part time workers...
from CBS:
30 Companies, Other Groups Escape New Health Care Rule for Now
The waivers were granted after insurers threatened to raise premiums dramatically or drop the limited-benefit plans all together rather than pay for the additional coverage. The exemptions apply to insurance plans for nearly a million people. Limited-benefit plans are often used to cover part-time or low-wage employees, and they often have low premiums and high deductibles. The Department of Health and Human Services opted to grant those entities waivers rather than allow consumers to lose coverage or see their premiums rise.

"The waivers are about insuring people and protecting the coverage they have until there are better options available to them in 2014," White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs said today.

The bulk of the new health care reforms will go into effect in 2014. At that point, some large employers that drop coverage for their workers will be subject to a fee. Consumers will also have the option of using new state-based health care exchanges to access the individual health care market.

By 2014, insurers will be completely barred from limiting annual benefits. The new regulations are being phased in until then: companies without waivers will have to provide a minimum of $750,000 in coverage next year, $1.25 million in coverage in 2012, and $2 million in 2013.

I guess bribes go along way to getting outta the perfect health care plan.

Money talks CB -- especially to politicians.

Actually this brings up a serious matter -- 'To what extent have bribes been saturating US politics' ??

Their primary job is raising money ~~ at least it has been for many years ~~ and not taking care of the people.

If this was such a perfect plan, whay do so many people want waivers to get outta it?

That's an EXCELLENT question !!

If we have moved to a 'transparent era' it seems like the perfection (or the flaws should be well known by everyone).

What we do know is the US Health Care System is one of the largest (if not the largest) entities that DRAIN the economy - and the greatest 'Strain' those in need (to which Lady could testify).

A Politician's main goal is to create the image whereby he/she becomes a hero and gains popularity.

Extending unemployment indefinately and giving parasites increasingly greater rewards is a very huge DRAIN - but addressing that may reduce popularity - and make him/her look like a villian.

***********************************

Anyway there is a State that wants to break from ObamaCare - and say they can 'Achieve the same goal for a much cheaper price'.

That is how we should do it -- find the cheapest and most effective method of getting the job done. Maybe give an award to the State or group that comes up with the best plan.

Hey Steady,

As I said "If this was such a perfect plan, why do so many people want waivers to get outta it? They'd be clamoring to get into it."

Ya can't be any clearer than that. Right now all the other stuff that Pols are saying is white noise.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, it's 1st grade level stuff. If the idiots in DC would've come out with a 1 page bill stating that the first step in our new HC Bill is going to be "No denying anyone with existing conditions", and we'll be studying what step 2 should be, they would've been the heroes, that you speak of. Everyone would've supported that. Most of us know what the real reason was behind the horrendous bill was. :D

But nooo, BO and his fellow socialist had to jam a 3000+ bill down our throats that the majority of the people didn't want anf the pols didn't have any idea what was in it.

But somone wanted to completely change who and what Anerica is. Even a bonehead knows this.

To get step 1 the Insurance industry said "only with individual mandates."
That is what the current waivers are addressing- temporary relief from coverage expense that would exceed the part-time or minimum wage employee's earnings before the tax structure framework is fully implemented, including payments into the system from big Pharma.

Watch for yourself...

I feel we are largely a Socialistic Country when almost half of the population have turned into 'roaches'. What drives them to this mentality? How about tax free money and all the benefits of us hard working people without doing a thing.

There was something else that came out a few years back but it was the same kind of thing CB -- was thousands of pages and written in such a way that no one could understand.

I suspect this is bound to have some 'pork' thrown in - and my guess is 'his friends' have the highest package at the cheapest price.

I like to believe (IMM) that it is not close to half. This is not a new phenomenon. The good news is that those who feel compelled to work hard because of their strong sense of right have always figured out how to drive on inside the painted lines. Occasionally we repaint those lines when nobodies looking.

I have to agree with WorkFE on this account. This past election, seemed to void the 50% assumption. If not, I'm glad I'll be dead when it all turns over.

I like to believe (IMM) that it is not close to half.

It twas Birch who made a post about 40 some % who did not pay taxes and that's where my idea stemmed.

This is not a new phenomenon.

I totally agree with that -- and nor is the National Debt or the way Business Interests (Profits) have increasingly taken priority at the cost of the People.

I do NOT Blame BO for this long standing condition - but I have to hold the Politicians at large accountable for allowing it to continue. There is NOTHING that would give 'us' more weight to cutting back on and eliminating 'parasite activities' than our present condition.

The good news is that those who feel compelled to work hard because of their strong sense of right have always figured out how to drive on inside the painted lines.

This is what I've been saying all along -- and that is very good news. We still have the 'FREEDOM' to live our lives in such a manner that everyone can see 'the strong sense of right' that compells us to live our lives as we do. Even if we can't straighten out the world -- there is plenty we can do in our own life and with those we encounter and know.

Occasionally we repaint those lines when nobodies looking.

Driving on the inside of the painted lines is what seperates us from the others and give us our identity. We may try to repaint those lines when the workload becomes greater and greater because we work in a system where many are geared to draw a paycheck without working or a 'pass the buck' mentality -- but the true lines are something none of us want to cross --.

If these lines are ever pointed out - I'd say we are the ones that don't need to be told twice - regardless of how the rest live their lives.

CB,
People like you and WorkFE are greatest reminders of what makes the USA so wonderful. The past election is probably the first time EVER that the population has more expressed we are tired of all the BS.

Of couse BO's promise of Hope and 'CHANGE' was wonderful and in past elections -- the greatest way to win is by stressing 'Change'. But this time 'feels different' -- in that the 'People' want most of the players to take that serious and make it happen.

I don't know the extent that 'The System' is being milked but I would bet is far greater than most could ever imagine.

Steady

It's Friday, I'm in a good serene mood and I just love this song. I laugh everytime I see it. It'll be a good way to start my recharging. :D
CB

I'll try to keep things light -- my friend -- and if I make a ruckus somewhere else I'll post a warning.

Have a great weekend ~ and I hope all is well.

Steady
