Playing the I fund

Looks like American markets are doing pretty good today. Plus my favorite indicator (slow stochastics) is still in the zone to stay in the market. I hope that means Asia will give us a nice rally tomorrow!

$19.01 Let me guess, yet another FV?
Barclays overpaid 10 to 11 cents which they should take back today, unless the US Markets continue to rally, then they may take it away on Wednesday. Now if there is another big move in the currency or stock markets then they will impose a new FV.

AORD =+1.09
Nikkei 300 +1.40
DAX -0.44
CAC +0.38
FTSE +0.25

The dollar is trading a little higher.
At this early in the day (11:30am ET) I’ll ballpark the I-fund at $19.10, if they take out the FV $19.00

07/17/06 I-Fund down 1.13% MSCI down 1.15% << they matched

07/18/06 I-Fund down 0.60% MSCI down 1.065% << priced 1.0% high
07/19/06 I-Fund up 2.63% MSCI up 1.97% << priced another 0.6% high
07/20/06 I-Fund down 0.43% MSCI up 1.677% << priced 2.1% low <<< sum 0.5% low
07/21/06 I-Fund up 0.48% MSCI down 0.50% << priced 1.0% high
07/24/06 I-Fund up 1.33% MSCI up 0.76 << priced another 0.5% high
07/25/06 I-Fund down -0.11% MSCI up 0.48% << priced 0.6% low <<< currently priced 0.4% low

Hehe, this question pops up ever few days. Just start reading this threat from the beginning. It's long, I know, but it'll shed some light about FV's.

I've learned a lot from the people here and I'm sure you will too.

Yes. Read this thread. The "FV" process is explained several times thoroughly. Be careful though, there was a fella named Greg who used to post here (here was banned for being a trouble maker). He used to post a lot of info about the I fund and the FV that was inaccurate. He was either a fool or he was trying to mislead people. Anyway, the point is, if you come accross any of his posts, view them with a grain of salt.

P.S. I think your calculations are just slightly off. You show the I fund as currently priced .4% too low, but I believe all of the recent FV's have been corrected and the I fund is properly priced. Gilligan can check my math. He is the resident expert.

Help! Help! I've been robbed. The guy's complexion was FAIR and he was wearing a t-shirt with VALUATION printed on it. :D

Wheels must be doing cartwheels, +.52 cents in the last two days, nice. How long do you plan on sticking with the S Fund, Wheels? :)

It's called "greggys back". Somewhat like "broke back". If you catch my drift. I guess I should be flattered that the other site allows you to devote a whole thread to me, but seriously,

you're not my type.......

Ah but I got in the S on July 6th and it had been down over a dollar, way worse than the other funds over that span. But it was nice to get a big chunk back in just 2 days. If it were up again tomorrow, I would probably bail. When markets are this volatile, 3 consecutive up days are probably about as much as we can ask for. Having said that, Amazon and a couple of others are getting whooped for missing estimates so I am not real hopeful for tomorrow.
