I didnt know they had any mud bogs up there? Did you take your boat?

MSCI shows a loss of -0.501% to $18.58. If we get the FV correction today we should end up around $18.78

We might as well get a FV!! It's been 1 day since the last one! lol

Not an ounce of mud to be found; need rain. Many Oklahoma crop farmers are getting worried. There are signs here in Newkirk that say, "Pray for rain." Hay is becoming harder to find too and is selling for $50 - $60 a roll; normally $25 - $30. Big trouble for cattle ranchers. Everywhere you go, folks ask if ya brought a pocket of rain. No Little Buddy... no boggin'... too hot for boatin'. Hooray Beer.

From TWSJ 7/22 no author

The BOJ on July 14 ended its five-year policy of keeping interest rates near zero and raised the unsecured overnight call rate target, its key monetary-policy rate, to 0.25%. Many investors don't expect the BOJ to tighten monetary policy again until the end of this year or early next year, based on the view that it likely won't act until examining economic data, such as the next tankan business-sentiment survey due out Oct. 2.

Meanwhile, Japanese economic activity fell 0.2% in May compared with a year earlier, marking the first decline in two months. The ministry's all industries index, considered a close approximation for gross-domestic-product growth as measured by industrial and service sector output, stood at 106 in May, down from a revised 106.2 in April. Does it mean anything - probably not.

Hey Birchtree, with your knowledge and expertise may I ask: should I stay in the (I) fund or head to the hills (G) fund? Thanks

Recliner,

Too late to move - just ride the cycle. The I fund is a long term proposition. The Euro economies are growing and Japan is also growing. Earnings will look good going forward. Be right and sit tight.

I beleive it's a 48/52 split in terms of weighting. The equity side is more heavily weighted then the dollar/inverse side. So you need the dollar to fall a little more then 1% to over compensate for the weighting. Good luck.

Hi Roguewave!
I only want to follow-up on the relationship between the international markets and the U.S dollar. This explanation you gave to Gilligan makes sense, but I would ask you to expand your thoughts today, after last Friday closing prices. I am not good with fractions, so did this ratio hold up or not?

Gilligan said:
If the international markets are down 1% and the dollar is down 1% the I fund should break even. If the international markets are down 1% and the dollar is UP 1% then the I fund should lose 2%.

Gilligan, the above quote was your answer to my question some days ago. I am sorry that I didn't paste my original question, and that I just finished asking Roguewave some information for my learning purposes.

Pardon me for putting the cart before the horse, as I should have started my previous questions with this data.
