Playing the I fund

I just went to WWW.Stockcharts.com and tried to run $iee to get MSCI EAFE for today and I’m not getting any of today’s action. Anyone else having the same problem? Any alternatives? I need a SLO Stk for tomorrow. Help!

Wow, check what the C-fund is doing the last couple of months (2.38 for Aug. and 2.86 for Sep. so far). I think it's on steroids or something. We have to remember days like these when the economy is slowing down, people tend to gravitate towards stocks that are tried-and-true (large cap). :)

ebbnflow,

Why are you spreading that communist drivel about the C fund, crissakes no one wants to read that malarkey. It's too dangerous a fund for the majority to play around with - the chances of a loss are compounded as the performance becomes known by all. Best play in your own yard with your own toys. Don't you realize the NYSE MCSUM and the SPX MCSUM have both formed ledges recently - and what happens when you stand on a ledge. Now you know the ledge part is true but for the rest - a pun. Come on over to the C fund one and all if you dare. Snort

IMHO, I don't think its the flight to quality you see before a correction. I think its a rotation into US equities after several years of laggin behind the int'l and small caps.

Hey boys do we stay with the I-fund through the weekend or get out before noon today? Thanks Terp

I’m going to hang in, although there are some negative indicators. First the $ is gaining some strength and the US markets will have a negative impact if they close significantly down today. Also we have some nice gains this week which would be nice to lock in. Sounds like I’m bailing. However, the indicators I follow RSI, MACD and Slow Stock still are not overbought enough for me to run to the sidelines……they’re getting close. So maybe next week I’ll go.

I cannot find today's $iee anywhere. I went to prophet.net and stockcharts.com and they both show yesterday's closing price.

Ball park estimate: Local Currency is +0.2%, the dollar was +0.4% higher but it has come down to +0.2%, so the USD price should be about even to $20.15, but the dollar is still going down so we could see a small gain.

I'm having the same problem. I've been using the Yahoo which is okay, but not the same. I left a message at stockcharts, you might want to do the same. Might get someone off the stick and fix it.

Just make sure the date on the top of the page is correct.
The I fund follows the EAFE, the first one on the list.
Today the local currency was +0.191%, the dollar was higher at +0.233%, so the USD price was -0.042%

Thanks Gilligan. I know about the link... that seems to update soon after 3pm EST. What I don't know is where you get the local currency figure from and the dollar figure from so early in the day? Thanks again.

Looks like a sharp drop at the end of the day for the us markets.....wonder if thats the first sign of a pullback??? I'm off the bus and watching on the sidelines.....can't wait to jump back in!!

Thanks for posting this change. ASAP please explain where in that site do you get the other numbers which you cited but which I am not able to confirm. Thanks Gilligan! And, have a great weekend. --

Tempted fate again... and broke even on the break; left the table with all my winnings. Who'da thought the I Fund would go three days flat-line in a row?

ooo... what a lucky man... he was.
