Playing the I fund

I'm a newbie with some questions.

1. I notice that EFV gapped up today. I made an ITF yesterday to I around 11:00 am EST. Am I buying in at the price at the end of the day yesterday or at the beginning of the morning today?

2. Also earlier this week someone mentioned that September 24 was going to be a big weird day for the dollar-that the currency people might know something the rest of us did not. That's the start of Ramadan. Is that what the reference was to or is there something else? Is there some sort of meeting or economic announcement that happens on the last Monday of the month?

Finally, i s there someplace on the web to get a list of when during each month important economic news comes out?

Your help is appreciated.

Veruca, welcome to the board.
1. You buy the closing price of the day that it is purchased, by the deadline of 12:00 EDT.

2. The 24th of Sept. is a Sunday. I surely don''t know of anything that effects the Market on Sunday.:D

I'd bet there is no FV today. Markets were steady (fairly) after the OSM closed (noon). The MSCI # is probably going to be correct. The EFA # is an ETF that follows the EAFE index. As a result it varies based on where people think the EAFE is going. People are betting the OSM goes up tommorrow and I think they will.

Still pretty discouraging - Watching EFA do so well, close up 1.12%, then get less than a fourth of it. Maybe tomorrow we'll see the real green.

1. The closing price is the same as the opening price the next morning. You can see your IFT generally after 6am EST the next day showing your new allocation.
