Playing the I fund

If you are in the I fund now you are still owed .11 cents. If the day keeps like it is then it should be a good pay day today if they tack on the FV. My feeling is that U.S.markets will hold up today and the FV will be applied and we I funders will have a nice pay day. And maybe overseas will be all happy with the action here and get on board for 1 more day. I'll probably stay for Wed. and get out. I'm swimming in the wait'n sea right now.

I'm waiting also, but times running out! HHUUUMMMMMMMM? I'm leaning towards the positive, CPICPICPICPI< CPI? Will it react like the PPI or bust us a good one?

I will not ever ride out the bumps so I will try to pick my spots and also time the I fund FV's.

While you have had great fortune with this recently (including today's move into the I fund stealing another 11 cents and padding your lead in the tracker), if you continue, your results will eventually flush out to about 50/50 (mlk man would argue even worse). There is just no way to get a beat on the FV process BEFORE NOON.

I am reconsidering what I'll do. I will stay as I am with 30% I and 70% G, instead of forcing an entry in such a volitile expiration week. The CPI report tomorrow has to be considered, because inflationary pressures don't seem to have affected the PPI much. However, the consumer and the related CPI measures, might show up quite inflationary with the impact of oil prices, and so forth; and that could send the markets reeling to the downside, and a Dollar rising again! I guess I better wait for more clear signs of a rally that might hold for a reasonable time.

I'll ballpark the EAFE in Local Currency at +0.61% and the dollar is lower, which is good for the I.

.643 in local. Gilligan, you are getting awfully good at those estimates. Greggy would be embarrased if he were still here.

I'm seeing +.949% in U.S. dollars which is what I have always used to calculate. Would be about +.19 then add FV(if we get it today) and we cash .30 cents a share. Right? Wrong? Close?

...and the TSP'ers breathed a collective sigh of relief. :D

While I don't want to seem dissatisfied with today's gain, I am a little frustrated that I just left the S because of weeks of underperformance and it jumps almost 2% to the I's 1%.

I think we all know that feeling. Even with the FV coming it doesn't quell the feeking because that is money they owe. I got lucky to catch it(i hope) today with the regular gain and I'm thinking the late rally may push it a little higher than it should be. We will see.

I fund up .30 cents

S fund up .30 cents

C fund up.19 cents

Ffund up .04 cents

G fund flatline

Closing price in I fund 19.82 It's all even has far as the FV goes.

Thanks Sugar for reporting. Somehow I notice that you are always about 20 - 25 minutes ahead of what I can get from the TSP site. (I guess my ISP provider uses some sort of web cache).

No, doubt it. But you can call the TSP hotline and get the #'s before they are posted to their website.
