Market Talk / May 7 - 13

Aww did I offend someone with my comment on Big Benny's announcement?

I think BB could learn much more from Greenspan's legacy than he had shown in the past couple weeks.

My bet is that all take a breather the next week or so. That was a heck of a run-up the last month, eh?

Here is a question:

With interest rates rising, why would anybody put money into "F" right now? I keep seeing a lot of people with a significant amount of money going into "F". In a falling rates environment that makes sense. But when rates are rising? ? ?

Why?

or stocks either for that matter...well US equities anyway.

Biggy with be the 10 year treasury auction at 1pm. That will move the market. To bad it is after the deadline. :(

What sucker is going to buy 10 year debt? Should be a hoot.

Dollar gains back a little against the Yen, and the Euro in opening trades, and also the Nikkei and the FTSE are in the red this morning at the open.

"I" fund going to take a hit today if things keep up.

I bailed out, and now am 95% in "G" as of CoB today. I think I caught one day after the peak. This may be a short couple of days of "I" taking a breather while the markets adjust to this level.

Good. It's about time. My guess: Perhaps a 2%- 3% pullback in "I", before it resumes it's upward trend. We'll see.

FTSE will not be open for almost 3 hours.
Futures arent anything to bet on and the Nikkei 300 and 225 are paring losses as we speak. They may finish up, or they may dive again.

There is some dollar moving news to come out at 8:30e.t. so watch for that. I do not think the dollar will sustain its rally or gains. The Fed was far too dovish and its only a matter of time before the dollar settles at 105 yen

FOREX data seems to indicate that the dollar will change mood for a bit.....looking for the dollar to strengthen some but I wouldn't hold my breath at this point.....

Looing for the funds to turn down for a few days myself.....wonder how low they will go.....

Dollar will strengthen when the options contracts roll over - lots of shorts. Contract expiration will cause short squeezes.

Even dead cats bounce applies here. :embarrest:

Care to predict how long the bounce will last? I know nothing about shorts or options contracts, when would you guess that these expirations and short coverings will be played out?
