Market Talk / July 9 - 15

I don't think India will pull a weasel like Spain. They may be encouraged to add more troops to Iraq - and show solidarity.

The end of the weeek!.......

KLA-Tencor, a tech company, just gave positive guidance for the future and up we go. Just a dash of good news and hopefylly there is more to come.

Yeah

It's like the baseball season. Yesterday we lost 1-0, today we win 3-2. Day to day, the fluctuations make no sense. Week to week, we can sense the trends. I have made a commitment for the quarter, and weekly I evaluate the level of that commitment. Last week I was at the 21% level, this week I increased it to the 33% level. Watch my dust!

I like that 1260 held so far on the S&P 500. More precisely, 1259.65 is the low today and 1258.64 was the breakout of the pennant formation and was the initial target support level. So technically the S&P is still just fine.

The Nasdaq 100 is the index that is hurting but the break of the earlier low could be the "capitulation" selloff in that index.

More wishful thinking. We'll need a strong close to make these points valid.

Tom,
U a brave one.....;)

Can anyone explain the jump starting around 1:30pm today? It may not hold.....but I haven't seen any news to 'splain it.

(Not that I'm complaining. :))

yea, for some who can read this....

The reversal in sentiment has been the resilience by semiconductors in the face of broad-based weakness spurred by earnings concerns. As one of the worst performing industry groups within the influential Technology sector, the belief that a bottom has formed coupled with KLA-Tencor (KLAC 41.45 +2.12) saying it will exceed the top end of its Q2 bookings guidance of 9-11% has improved the overall tone.

Tomorrow we get the May trade deficit which is expected to be at $65.5 billion up from $63.4 billion in April. If there is any indication of a trend reduction that will be positive. Techy, you better jump on ole Trigger.

So far so good.

As Lane Bryant use to say... "Support can be beautiful." If you remember that, you are showing your age. :)

OK Wiz!
Please, no more posting of "burger" pictures at 9 PM. Ur just lucky that I keep a few corn-dogs in the refier, for post like that!......:cheesy:

I think we've filled in a lot of the gaps, and now the later hours move upward signaled a new move north.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next few days will be very solidly green.

We'll see.

I noticed this dust cloud from a distance and thought that must be The Technician heading out of town on Trigger, but alas it was only DaveM trying to get fully invested to catch this new leg up. Time has come!

Blast from the past - SCUR (Secure Computing) down over 39% in AHs trading at $5 per share.

I can still remember when that was trading over $60.
