Malyla's Account Talk

The EMW is about 10 points from my estimate of the intermediate top. Expect I'll be in safety within the next few days. I still don't see anything that changes my plan. Expect a revisit of the Dec lows and then a blast off before the elections. G.L. everyone.

So is this still wave 3 then, w/ 4 down and 5 up?

My count is a macro-wave count. I see that we are in the wave 4 down where this mini uptrend is just the formation of the head and shoulder pattern that will end in the bottoming of the wave 4 at 600-610, then the wave 5 up-trend will begin. Here's the count.

Oct 2011 start of wave 1 uptrend
Nov 2011 top of wave 1, start of wave 2 down trend
Dec 2011 bottom of wave 2, start of wave 3 uptrend
Mar 2012 top of wave 3, start of wave 4 down trend
Aug/Sept bottom of wave 4, start of wave 5 up trend to 760+

This is a asymmetric wave count of 120, 70, 140, 120, 160+. If I'm wrong and this uptrend breaks above 720 (i.e., doesn't stop at forming a head around 690), then I'll be rethinking my TA.:embarrest:

Sticking to my plan. Going 100% G today.

Aye,
Great Minds Think Alike,
Been puffin and chillin...and thinkin dat da recent runup gonna separate da bulls, da bears, and da pigs,
No feelin like being bacon dis month so takin near 2% month gain, and runin to me island hideaway...
Me S-chart (Vangaurd version) showin too steep a climb in past 6 days dat overshoot last months peak and now a 2 -month high.
Today rally be low volume on holiday...that kind of runup never stay,
Maybe roll da dice again later dis month...maybe play short term bounce off da 50 day EMA
Unless like B-Tree say we "Up Up and Away"
:toung:

We are sitting on the neckline (200EMA). Not sure what's going to happen.

Staying out until a direction is determined. If the neckline breaks, target is the 500EMA. Stay safe and good luck.

After I posted the neckline post (#553) I saw a short term bottom, so I went in for a quick I fund scalp. My nerves did get the best of me and I ended up going 50% F/50% I, but it turned out ok.

I have met my goal for this trade and even though seasonality shows that the last few days of July are positive, I am not changing my overall strategy which includes not being greedy (pigs get slaughtered).

Going 100% G after this two day trade. (OOPPs - this is my third trade and it won't let me go to F, so G it is....)

G.L. everyone

That is a good strategy, and I'm soon to follow. It has been a good month.

Have always had it done the close of every bussiness day THAT DAY even when IFT'ing at noon Eastern Time.
Cell Phone Clock set to Naval Observatory time...and once I IFT'ed about 15 seconds after 12 noon and it was still OK...trade went thru COB that day.
But you definitely don't want to cut it any closer than that :)

I've been in Michigan for the past four years, but I'm in the process of moving to NM. I'm currently visiting my mom in Louisiana though. The time zone change is killing me lol. I keep thinking the current time is market time (EST), but it's not. It will be even stranger when I'm in NM and the market closes at 2pm local time. I will have to reprogram my brain to say market closes at 2, not 4.

As a west coast gal, I've always had problems with how the Financial markets and national news were scheduled on East Coast time. Always felt several steps behind and out of touch. Now that I'm on the East coast, I feel like I'm in touch (at least with time) with the center of the world. Body clock is still set for the west coast though - really hard to get up in the mornings on the east coast even after 10+ years.:D

lol Hopefully with some time I will get used to it. I'll be starting work at 7am there I'm pretty sure so at least when I get to work I will still have about 30 minutes until the market opens. :)

It's been awhile since I last posted. Life has had me running :)

Is anyone else worried about the VIX? We are reaching levels last seen at the top of the bubble in the forth quarter of 2007 before everything went kablooy. The VIX was between 10-12 during that time. The market top was 6-8 months later and the crash happened 12 months later. We are near 13 on the VIX now. How long can we chop around?

Check out Birchtree's thread as he is all giddy about the VIX being so low, and explains it's impact.

As it's Birchtree, you answer implies "no, no one is worried about how low the VIX is getting". He is always bullish no matter what indicators are indicating :toung::notrust:

If we were in a bubble right now that was 6 months from topping, what would this bubble be from? QEs?

And then again, maybe Birch is right this time and we are heading into the biggest boom time since 2003-2008. I'm somewhat skeptical of this conclusion as none of the problems have really been solved, just patch over. Many are waiting for this boom time which should provide the healing under the patchwork. Just kicking the can down the road and hoping for a miracle (like a rapidly expanding economy) to save us all.

Soooo true, but it is a valid point he is making. I just don't happen to agree with him. But only time will tell as we are krill in a sea of blue whales ;)

I just want to know if this S Fund uptrend is gonna continue. I'm half in with one IFT to burn. Should I wait for a dip before jumping in 100%? Or get in now with a G Fund bailout in my pocket. Hate the thought of not reaping bigger gains. Hate to buy high too.

50 S 25 G 25 F

I would like to know that myself, but as always nobody really knows.
