wht00ss account talk

In the grand scheme of things the ol' I fund took a high hard fast one in the shorts worst than the C or S. BUT and this is a bit BUT which one do you want to own when the havoc is played out? Which one has the most to gain?? In a couple of months this will just seem like a speed bump for the one's that stay in this week. This is the worst week in 4 years - so what? I went thru 87 and guess what? That was a slightly larger drop than 5 -10% and guess what - people like Peter Lynch were the smart ones buying like crazy and they came out like heroes while the bears - well they made their money on the down side but to me still looking like zeros because how often have they been right? LOL

So let's keep this all in perspective. In the 90's we had some 40% gains and also some down years. Guess what? As long as you are in the game you will make money. YTD we are still ahead. Don't get greedy get smart and have a plan that works for YOU!!!!- stick too it and have disciple and you will always make money. Don't always do what everyone else is doing like sheep - use the ol' eclectic approach and use what make sense too you and discard the rest. Remember this was just one week and history is on our side in pre-election years and we also have had a nice bull run for a few years now so appreciate what the hell you have!!!

I don't own any housing stocks but I think the time is right to start an accumulation program - they are mostly selling at 50% below book value. I'm seriously looking at BZH, CTX and DHI. They smell so bad that only a little manure will help them.

Okay boys and girls I'm am going to be all over this market like a cheap suit.
Over the next few weeks we will probably get more volatility in the market with significant moves in both directions. But and a big but is one of the stronger Buy Signals to look for in an oversold market is near the end of the month or at the beginning of the month when the Relative Strength Index (RSI) (which I follow a lot) closes below 10 and the 5 Day Stochastic is below 10 as well.
For example back in late February and early March two oversold Buy Signals were generated in the SPY's -proxy for the C fund. One Buy Signal was triggered on February 27th when both the RSI and and the 5 Day Stochastic closed below 10. The entry date was at the open on February 28th and the SPY's then gained over $1.50 from the entry price on that day. Meanwhile a second oversold Buy Signal was triggered on March 5th when once again both the RSI and 5 Day Stochastic closed below 10 . The entry date was at the open on March 6th and the SPY's then gained over $2 within a few trading days .

So I am looking for a big pop Monday with some follow thru on Tuesday and maybe a good week overall.

I hope for my sake I am right.;):worried: I am hoping for a little I fund cross action as well. We will see but I think it is time to put foot to ass.

From Liz Ann Sonders - chief invest. at Schwab:

"For those with a short-term focus, here are some historical stats about market action following greater-than-2% down days for stocks, courtesy of Bespoke Investment Group: There have been 11 2% down days since early 2003. The average next-day change on the S&P 500 after a 2% down day has been +0.63%, with the index going up seven days and down four days. The average one-week change was +1.56% and the average one-month change was +2.53%. Most notably, on the prior two 2% down days thus far in 2007, the index went up the following day by an average of +0.61%."

what happened to milkman (again)? How many times can someone get banned??

Perhaps he ingested too many lead paint chips as a child.

Well I started getting chest pains. First thing you think of is indigestion but but my wife was smart enough to kick me in the ass and we went to the hospital. Just a minor hear attack. Just had a couple of stents put in and all seems to be well. They do this damn cardiac catherization thru the femoral artery in your leg. The only good thing about that is that they have you in LaLa land and boy do they kick you out of the hospital quick these days. I guess they got tired of my bitching to go home. :D

I'm letting this GD market get to me dammit!!:D

For you Marine guys I started out in the 5th Marine Basic Class so that will tell you what an old fart I am.

All is good - this was just an update to DON'T IGNORE WHAT YOUR BODY TELLS YOU!!!!

I don't want to hear I'm sorry horsesh#t or any of that crap so let's make some money. Today so far so good so keep up the good work and carry on.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm just glad I didn't have to go thru a damn bypass. That would have a been a real pain in the ass - well probably more the chest:D Worst part is no cigars and single malt scotch but hey seeing your family everyday is well worth the trade.

My cardiologist swears by lipitor for cholesterol. My cholesterol is 129 and 115/75 bp so I can't complain too much. Just have to be a little smarter in some of my more insidious habits ;)

My only message to all is NEVER IGNORE WHAT YOUR BODY SAYS. I have a very close marine corps friend who worked for me and thought he was the toughest guy around and we were at dinner and he asked me why they dimmed the lights in the restaurant.

He had a STROKE (youger guy only 55) AND LOST VISION IN HIS RIGHT EYE. LOVED TO DRIVE HIS AMG 55 MERCEDES AND NOW HIS WIFE DOES IT FOR HIM. HE STOPPED TAKING HIS BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION BECAUSE HE FELT BETTER. REAL SMART.

DON'T BE STUPID - END OF LECTURE.

I hear you White. This growing older is definitely "NOT" for sissy's or the faint-hearted. I'm beginning to understand why this phase of life is called the "2nd childhood". You begin to require naps again. zzzzzz-opps.

Glad you are ok.

wht00ss, thanks for letting us know, and thank God you are home safe, take care of yourself, and don't let Wall Street push you to the wall, it's just not worth it! ;)

White you're tough, hang in there and don't forget that a glass or two of Red Wine is good for your heart!:D

"Old Age is the shipwreck of life"

-Charles De Gualle near the end of his life

The year 2007 is definitly a year I can not wait to put in my rear view mirror for me (prostate cancer) and for my friends (various illness, deaths).
And I'm only 54.
Old Age as I am beginning to comprehend is not for the faint of heart.

White, glad to see you got everything under control. That high blood pressure sure is a silent killer.

Please do some googling about pomegranate juice. I hear it clears arteries of blockage (plaque). That's also why it increases the blood circulation by about 17%.

Another one that seems to be the common denominator for good health is drinking lots and lots of green tea. Check out the Chinese and Japanese people living healthy long lives and all habitual tea drinkers.

Glad to hear you still kick'n butt White.

Sex...........lots of sex will keep the blood flowing and the arteries clear. LOL That's what I tell my wife, but she rolls her eyes a lot. And good for the prostrate too!

Well boys and girls there is always bad news and good news. I'm hoping for the good news.

Nothing worse than talking about one's health - makes me feel like and old man dammit:D. (79 years young)

A couple of years ago I had a small tumor removed from a section of my pancreas and now after a cat scan the damn thing is back and unfortunatelyl it looks twice the size as the first one. My oncologist is going to be doing a biopsy and surgery if required (which will be a necessity) but he isn't very optimistic the SOB:D - they seem to think it has metastasized to my liver as well so I thought after the stent episode all was well. Well you can't always get what you want. What the hell after two wars, a silver star, bronze star, and purple heart it could have been alot sooner. Not bragging just happy I survived some close calls when alot of brave men came home in body bags.

With all the bullshit out of the way (excuse my frankness Tom ) I want to just say they the members of this board are just about the finest group people I have dealt with and it's been and honor and privilege dealing with people who have respect for one another (well at least most of the time:toung:) and are willing to listen to other opinions unlike for example yahoo boards and some of the richboy boards.

I won't be participating anymore obivously because family and health will come first but I just want to name a few names (not leaving anyone out just the one's I dealt with personally):

350z - I fund work for all of us
Griffin - great tech knowledge
12% - for his "Rasputin" insights
Paladin - for his concise analysis
ebb - your the man - I don't know how you do it
Show-me there are no SUCH THING AS EX- MARINES SEMPER FI
Birchtree - you got to have him because I love the big ship and tugboat stories and he does stick to his guns.

Most of all to all the moderators who make all this work

Tom you run a tight ship and my hat is off to you and if you would take my name of the return tally sheet I would appreciate it.

One thing I have learned is that having close to 20M dollars - I would trade it all to do it all over again.

I might redo my will - does anyone need a little bonus. LOL;)

Lastly Semper Fi and God Speed to all the fighting men and women who put their lives on the lines for peanuts. They do it for love of country and our way of life.

May the finance gods shine on everyone here and may you all reach 7 or 8 figures when it is all said and done.
