Why was the I fund down 15 cents. Didnt it look like it was going to be even pretty much? How can they just decide to lower that much?

I find this very confusing also. Is the iShares MSCI EAFE Index(EFA) the best chart to watch for the I Fund?

Right now it's the best we have. Of late it has not been tracking as close as in the past.

Also you have to look at the dollar results.

It's VERY close but I think it's going to be a -FV of 10 cents, for a total of -13. The dollar fell quite a bit after the EZ closed but not enough to cancel the FV.

Could it be that the USD fall canceled out the the weaker OSM and there was no FV at all?

I think it got canceled out by the falling dollar. Just look at the EFA. I had this happen to me once before. I got out and escaped without being screwed by a -FV because the dollar had fallen big along with the US market. I believe the decision point comes in when the US market changes by atleast +/- .50%.

That's what I was thinking also. I was hoping the dollar would wait till in the morning to drop so I went 50% I fund today. That thing is hard to trade. Guess they are doing their job well.............

I'm wondering if they monitor forums like this and vary the formulas week to week or month to month just to keep us guessing. The reason why I thought there was going to be a -FV was because a had the dollar down .30% when the US market closed. I was thinking the dollar needed to fall by -.50% to cancel out the .50%(or 10 cents) of -FV.

I use to try to figure out the I fund payout and sometimes I was correct, sometimes I wasn't. The hard part is days just like today. Between 11:30 and 12:30 EST today the dollar dropped like .30. The dollar index prices are 20 minutes after the fact so when you get a drop like that, all bets are out the window. Just my observations.

Did you noticed that I went 100% I before noon today?

btw, a light bulb just came on in my head but I'm afraid to post my thoughts fearing what Barclays might do with it. Perhaps I'm giving them too much credit?
