Playing the I fund

Europe all closed for holiday.

Japan market up slightly, but the Dollar also up against the Yen, pretty much cancelling out everything.

I'd say, (and this is ONLY a guess), that we may end up down a penny or two on the "I" fund today.

Because Europe is closed today, will we be buying the I fund at Monday's or Friday's closing prices? Also, crude oil is dropping significantly today, and prior experience indicates that the EAFE is significantly affected by a drop in oil due to oil companies weighting. How do we sort this out in terms of the overseas makets behavior?

With my calculations, I will say the I fund will be down over 5 pts, possibly up to 10 or more.

FrizzB.

Looks like we have a significant difference of opinion here?

Looking good for the I-fund...

Nikkei seen at highest since May, Toyota may gain

Tue Dec 26, 2006 1:30pm ET

TOKYO, Dec 27 (Reuters) - The Nikkei share average is likely to hit its highest since May on Wednesday, as shares of technology firms such as Sony Corp. (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research) rise after gains in similar U.S. stocks.

Trade activity is expected to remain slow as many market participants are away for year-end holidays.

Shares of Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.T: Quote, Profile, Research) may rise following a Nihon Keizai report that its chairman met with the chief executive of Ford Motor Co. (F.N: Quote, Profile, Research) as the first step in potential partnership negotiations. Read the rest here. :)

I 21.99 -.03

It looks like we had a -FV of -.02 cents on the I-fund. Now, we can expect to get back the two cents on the I-fund tomorrow. :D

I disagree. My experience is that FV's are never, ever, that small. Notice that EAFE has a value for December 25th (- .08%), combined with Tuesday's value of - .062% = -.142% which is about 3 cents.

Bummer, there goes the two cents, thanks Wheels. I forgot all about the -.08% from Dec. 25th. Oh well, it's still looking pretty good for the I-fund. :D

As of 7:15 am Dollar index -0.30 {-0.36%} AORD ^38.50 {0.69%} N225^53.96 {0.31%} N300^0.95 {0.28%} FTSE^32.00 Everything looking good for the I fund today so far.

We have to recruit the skills of those of you who have more experience trading the I fund so that we can to follow the best course of action, take profits, and exit the I-fund before we give the gains back. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
