I have a 2011 Avalanche that I keep as pristine as possible and has less than 50000 miles on it. I don't do any off-roading and keep it in the garage. A crack developed just going down the road on my way to Texas one day. This never should have happened and apparently it is a major issue with GM trucks.

After the nightmare I had with a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I swore I would never own an American made vehicle ever again. I bought a 2007 Honda Pilot to replace the POS Jeep. It was the best purchase I have ever made.

Same car I own WW! Best purchase ever made. 125,000 miles to date. I've done all the maintenance on her. Honda guy wanted to buy here back from me she is such a great machine. Ixnay was my answer. She's good for another 200,000 miles. I simply love her. After my Swedish Shield Maiden, 2nd best girl in my life:):):)

Can't go wrong with Honda's...my first car was a '76 Honda Civic that I drove into the dirt exploring California in the 80s, back when California was a great place to live...then an '84 CRX, fun car...then, oops, an American car, a Plymouth Voyager when I was in the soccer dad days, nothing but trouble with that car...back to Honda's...a 94 Accord, put 210K miles on it then gave it to my oldest daughter and it got her through college and beyond...next up a '04 Accord EX, 145K miles and counting...I plan to keep it until I retire, then, just maybe, something other than a Honda LOL...I like the new BMW 328i I saw at the auto show...a nice reward for my torturous career... meanwhile, my wife is hooked on Audi's and wants a Q5...

I was going to save my Pilot for my daughter, but I couldn't get the ex to see selling the car to the ex, who is mindnumbingly stupid, for $5,000 was a good deal. So I sold it myself, with a ridiculously simple Cragislist ad for $13,000, or just under half of what I bought it for. Not bad for 8 years of use.

TS: Stick with the BMW. I'm sure you can negotiate something with your #1:D). You simply can't beat the ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE

244,000 + miles on my 2007 Honda Ridgeline, which uses the Pilot frame, etc. Change oil and filters and no maintenance issues. 3 sets of plugs, 3 sets of tires, 2 timing belts!!!!

I picked up a 2012 Tundra 2 years ago, they are great trucks, and if you get the crew cab with the 5.7 you won't be disappointed.... Power, comfort and luxury rolled into one, sweet trucks.

Four reasons to ignore someone new who comes along and claims to have the best trading system since the beginning of time.

Reason #1: 99% of these people are full of it and don't have a historical track record that proves anything.

Reason #2: Well, do you really need any other reasons...................

IT - I had the same issue with my 2008 Silverado. As the original owner, I was required to take the truck to the purchasing dealership to have the dash replaced. It cost me $400. The $400 was due to depreciation.

I, too, have a Tundra that I bought, new, in 2004....before they made them humongous !!! :D

GREAT truck ! Access cab, 4WD, 4.7 (?) V-8 (biggest they offered at the time !)...Stuck in a Bed Rug, and got a color-matched A.R.E. cap on the back, and the Dogs and I have been happy ever since...

The wife had a 2004 Toyota Sequioa, same chassis as the Tundra. It was a great vehicle. Reliable, comfortable, decent gas mileage with a V8.

I also have an 89 Toyota 4runner that I paid $350 for about 3 years ago. It had been sitting in a barn in Texas for about 5 years with a blown engine. My brother and I (okay, my brother) put in a new engine and I suspect it will last another 10-20 years. I'd just use it all the time except it is a little rough around the edges as it was a used as a ranch truck and my fiancee doesn't like riding in it. I just think it has character. :) People are always asking me what year it is and think it looks cool as I put a soft top on it and roll up the sides and back during the summer. I've pulled out much bigger trucks and suburbans from ditches and up steep driveways during WI winters. It's going to be great when the Zombie Apocalypse comes around...............

LOL !!!

I think the new Tacomas are about as big as my old Tundra, but I haven't looked at them ...

Mine only has 123K miles on it...just getting broken in...nothing wrong mechanically, but the interior and exterior is starting to show its age...broke the heater valve cable just the other day, and I noticed minor paint peeling on top of the exterior door handles...and my headlights are getting cloudy again...polished 'em up once, but I think I need to pop for a new set...I can't complain !!!

The Wife's "mid-life crisis" car was a red 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse...talked her out of a convertible BMW ! That car was a good-looker, and a BLAST to drive with the V-6, but NOT a durable "ride"...got her in a 2011 Toyota RAV4 now, and she's happy as a clam !!! :D

Lord knows when my mid-life crisis will hit, or WHAT I'll want as MY mid-life crisis car !!! I'm kinda digging Dreamboat Annie's new ride !
