Gumby's Account Talk

Gumby,
I honestly haven't had time to even look over Market stuff today. This morning started off with a long meeting with the psychiatrists (staff meeting) and ever since have been pretty busy.

Now need to head over and take care of 3 admissions that came in last night. BUT WANTED TO TELL YA ABOUT ELLA.

Yesterday was my wife's B day - and every evening I get home I always greet my cat who usually is in the red wagon - converted to her home/bed (near the door to our hallway). Well anyway I always greet her exactly like I talk to Ella :D LIKE I'M SO EXCITED AND HAPPY TO SEE HER.

Now my Ella would never miss anything - so when the car is even starting up the driveway towards the garage she's already on the other side of the door WAITING ;) So I stretch out my little greeting to Cuddles - because that just makes Ella a thousand times more anxious for me to open the door and see her.

When I open the door - my wife was towards the end of the hall LOOKING REALLY UPBEAT AND FULL OF LIFE - so I really honed in on that and wanted to foster that all the more. So I just gave Ella more of a curtosy (sp) greeting and walk over to my wife and start visiting with her.

Now ELLA - is wired more like a woman than even a lot of women -so SHE WILL NOT BE IGNORED and NEVER WILL TAKE 2nd PLACE. But I'm too caught up with my wife to give her the respect and attention she was demanding. So Ella instantly determines that Ann is getting my attention because she's taller - and more on my eye level. She immediate stands on her hind legs BETWEEN ME AND ANN and stays perfectly still (like that the most natural thing in the world for her) and looks at me like "Hey how it's going ... nice to see ya".

She had never done that before - so of course I'm totally blown away by her 'human immitation' and immediately shower her with all kinds of attention. Stepped in the living room where she could lay on the carpet and gave her a good tummy rub and then some extra attention until she finally chilled out. She's kind of like a toll booth and you have to pay up before you can do anything else.

Well I have to run ... but thought Stella and Ella probably have a lot in common being the same breed. ;)

Steady,

Sounds like your Ella demands attention....very similar to Stella.
Stella is at the garage door when I get home and can't wait to get out of the house. She will muzzle me and turn circles as I let her outside. Many times she will turn circles and tinkle on my boots in the driveway if I am not quick enough to get out of the way.

I have never seen Stella stand up by herself. She will dance with my wife when the wife grabs her front feet and pull up on her. She will then stand on her hind legs and walk circles with my wife and wag the tail.

Labradoodles are very smart dogs and demand much attention.
Stella loves tummy rubs and will roll over on her back with all 4 feet in the air and look at me.

Stella also likes to float around on a floating mat on the pool. I'll have to find a pic of that for you.

Have a great weekend.

Another bailout for the Money Pit AIG

Will this madness ever end??

AIG loses $460,000/Minute

Taxpayers take up the slack:sick:

CNBC asked AIG's CEO Liddy this morning whether it would be appropriate to recover the $3.6B in compensation given to the one unit of 150 people within AIG that was instrumental in its collapse. Liddy said no. He didn't say if the hugely rich leader of the group felt bad.

To bad the FRTIB took away the unlimited IFT's. I would buy into the stock fund today and try for a bounce if things were as they used to be.
Hard to believe we can't even buy an IFT!:(

I guess I will just have to wait and see what shakes out. Sell off in the PM or a bounce??

Brother! Ya ain't joking

These Azzhats are screwing themselves and are too arrogant to realize they made a mistake and should go back to the old system. If I had a towel, I'd already have thrown it in a long time ago... :notrust:

Changed my mind on the IFT. We hit 708.

I just got my IFT in. I may regret it but I went 40%C, 30%S, 30% I.
I will be out before Friday's unemployment numbers and sit on the sidelines for March.
Capitulation? It appears to be a slow grind down.

I have already lost a third of my TSP in the last 14 months.....hopefully all in the stock funds will catch a bounce.:)

JTH, you may have to throw me the rope!

S-Fund has still not hit its November bottom. I'm following the strength this month, with a reserved 33% S

Hopefully everyone will be a winner this month

Good luck Gumby... don't forget the ADP employment change number is on Wednesday the 4th and the initial claims number is on Friday the 6th.

Hopefully all you guys and gals going in get the bounce.

Your previous posts regarding IFT's and the insanity.... well, I agree 500 fold.

I bought another 25% in my TSP, lucky me.:D I also manage to buy some BGU for $17.00 a share.

Bounce baby, bounce.

Getting better, the bottom is near because if it is not we will be at zero.

DCA is my motto for now!!!

I am thinking we might get a small bounce and then another leg down. I am real concerned about the GM and Chrysler bailout. I hope the government doesn't do something stupid:worried:.

This market seems to turn on government actions...or inactions.
BHO's budget may cause turmoil for quite some time.

Gumby,

I don't disagree and reserve the right to sell my DCA share at the first sign of a profit.:D

C Fund for $8.14
S Fund for $9.48
I fund for $10.66

That was the purchase price for yesterday. Who would have thought a year ago the funds would trade for that?

I think this entry point would be great for a long term hold of >5 years.
But I do believe lower prices are in store before this recession/depression shakes out.

The I fund has really been hit hard. I remember selling some of mine in Nov 2007 for $24.XX. With the limits to TSP transfers, I am beginning to believe that when the 50 day MA crosses below the 200 day MA (happened about 1/1/08)for the C fund it is time to go to G or F fund and let the market shake things out.

You got my vote. Folks like me (I'm 34) shouldn't be timing in a bear market with 2 IFTs.

If I was smart, I'd use the 100 & 200 MA. That would have made me go to G/F ssometime in Dec 2007, just 2 months after October's Peak. :)

What a disappointing bounce after a huge selloff.

Has anyone tried to make an IFT for the autotracker today? I can't get it to work.

I am thinking about going 25%G, 25% f, 20%C, 15% S, and 15% I today.

If we top S&P 712 within an hour on the S&P there is no doubt I shift some to safety.
