What is your prediction for % advance for XLF and UYG today?
I guess it will depend on how many freebies are given to the banks and how deeply the taxpayer is speared.:nuts:

I am guessing +10% for UYG is there are substantial freebies and guarentees against bank failure.
-20% if the freebies are minmal.

I just love it when GS is off $7 share. It couldn't happen to better bunch of thieves.

I guess the banks won't want to divulge how much their "worthless assets" are worth. Even with the gov throwing more than a $trillion at this mess, things will not change overnight.
Are we going to get whipsawed in this market? November redux.

The conspiracy theorist in me comes out.......
Looks to me like the government plunge protection team is at work today. I wonder how many billion they get to buy index funds to prop up the market....and which of Wall Street's firms get the commission from the trades. I would like to see the government's portfolio. Can I file a FOIA request for that? Maybe they won't have enough $$$$ to make it go green today. That 790 on the S&P is a tough nut to crack.

Don't sweat it my friend... it's not a 'conspiracy thing' .... it is simply the way things have been going for months on end..


The Smart Money is waiting... so we are obligated to let the small fries continue to push the Markets up and down .... until the Markets finally settle at the bottom

The fantastic news is we can with tremendous certainty count on a large number of small fries to jump in and push things up... and soon you'll be seeing all kinds of posts about the BULL ... which is total BS.... but this is very much in line with how things have been going over the past year and especially since 2009.

Anyway - we may not make >5% - but I'm not getting out with just a little bump - if we have only a small bump tomorrow.

790 will be a thing of the past in no time at all - first we need to lure a bunch of takers with a fairly nice upward momentum - then I think the BEARS will take their strongest move to date.

High 5 sounds good .... can save those hugs and kisses

The I Fund is presently lagging - but no big deal as it will fly when our Markets fly.

I have no doubt we are heading to NEW LOWS - but when you have 5% day losses OFTEN you have 5% day gains to follow. It's simply VOLITILITY and that has been dominately characteristic of our present conditions. So I plan to sell before the week is over - there is no way in hell I'm remaining in the Markets for the next few months.

We are pretty much on the same page. I am planning(hoping) for a bounce......a 2% one would be just fine. I may sell out Friday or Monday depending on what happens. No way am I a buy-n-holder.

TSP lookup predicts the I fund price to be $11.48 if things stay the same with the market until close. This is the same price as the November 20th low.

I would like to buy in at this price........but I am already in...so I'll hold a while.:embarrest:

Looks like the boyz have put the squeeze on and are trying to run the PUTS on SPX out worthless at strikes less than 770. SPX now 775.20 @ 2:27 EST
What a reversal! Will the boyz succeed or is this a great shorting opportunity?


Update SPX now at 768.80 at 2:29 EST. That was a quick drop.

Look like death to me. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of A$$holes.
Yeah, there is a story behind it. They jacked my daughter's interest rate to 29.99% and she had never missed a payment or was late. Her card is in pieces now(small ones)(plastic surgery).....and she doesn't owe them anything.

I would short their stock but Scottrade won't let me short anything with a price under $4.

Oh my gosh .... PLEASE don't be like the mindless others...

but absolutely - under no circumstances - allow themselves to see the person who genuinely wants to make a difference for the better and is doing things in a way that everyone has longed for

This is honestly the VERY FIRST PRESIDENT that I've ever believed in and it's hard to count JFK because I was too young.

As an adult - especially over the past 20 to 30 years it's pretty much been having to pick the lesser of the 2 evils - which one stinks less - and finally for the very first time there was honestly this sense of fresh air .... someone really in touch with the people and what our country is meant to be.
