Unofficial results for May 31, 2013:

S&P 500 (C-fund): -1.43%; DWCPF (S-fund): -1.02%; EFA (I-fund): -1.98%.

Friday's MSCI EAFE shows a loss of -1.22% for the I-fund (-FV expected).

TNA: -3.13% (YTD: +52.19%). Ok, who let the air out of the balloon?

Official results for the TSP funds (May 31, 2013): G +0.00%; F -0.16%; C -1.43%; S -1.02%; I -2.00%.

For the I-fund: A new FV (fair value) of -0.78% was added to Friday’s MSCI EAFE of -1.22%, due to late market movement to the downside. So today, the I-funders will have an FV buffer of +0.78% against the overseas markets. :worried:

Unofficial results for June 03, 2013:

S&P 500 (C-fund): +0.59%; DWCPF (S-fund): +0.06%; EFA (I-fund): +0.45%.

Monday's MSCI EAFE shows a loss of -0.54% for the I-fund (+FV expected). If we add Friday's FV buffer of +0.78%, then the I-fund shows a gain of +0.24%. But due to late market movement to the upside, a possible +FV could be tacked on. Note: All the major indices (Dow, S&P, Nasdaq) moved more than half a percent between noon and closing time. On the other hand, the EFA only moved +0.13%, so it would be interesting to see if a +FV goes through as expected.

TNA: +2.57% (YTD: +56.10%). Looks like the S-funders got left at the gate.

At least we know why the I-fund didn't get the +FV on Monday (EFA move was too small). Nonetheless, there should have been one - today's MSCI EAFE says it all.

It's official (June 06, 2013):

TSP stock funds rebound (G +0.00%, F +0.10%, C +0.86%, S +1.20%, I +0.12%). For the I-fund: A new FV (fair value) of +0.62% was added to Thursday’s MSCI EAFE of -0.50%, due to the falling dollar and late market movement to the upside. So this Friday, the I-funders will carry an FV baggage of -0.62% from the get-go.

Note: Last Friday's market movement from noon to closing time didn't warrant a +FV, but the TSP overlords must have seen the overseas futures spike (Japan's Nikkei is up over +3% in it's morning session), so they decided to tack one on. :D

TNA: +1.90% (YTD: +56.29%). We must be inside the eye of the storm. :suspicious:

Note: Yahoo's FTSE was off by one day, so the gain was not over 1% (it's actually -0.19%).

Mixed results for the TSP stock funds (G +0.01%, F -0.16%, C -0.03%, S +0.24%, I +0.43%). For the I-fund: Friday’s FV baggage of -0.66 was added to Monday’s MSCI EAFE of +0.49% (loss -13%). But due to late market movement to the upside, a new FV of +0.56% got tacked onto the I-fund’s final price. So today, the I-funders will carry an FV baggage of -0.56% at the get-go. That being said, this may not be the case at all (see below).

This is just wrong. I know there’s no possible way they could have given Monday a +FV. At any rate, Monday’s MSCI EAFE of +0.49% was too low considering I had it at over 1%. So, I’m suspecting that they took the -0.62% from the MSCI. I’ve never seen it done like that before (very odd). Note: If they give a +FV (+0.62%), they always take it back (-0.62%) the next day.

June 5: +0.86% (MSCI); +0.87% (TSP). No FV.
June 6: -0.50% (MSCI); +0.12% (TSP). +FV of +0.62%.
June 7: +0.79% (MSCI); +0.83% (TSP). No FV and no -0.62%.
June 10: +0.49% (MSCI); +0.43% (TSP). No FV and still no -0.62

S&P 500 (C-fund): -1.02%; DWCPF (S-fund): -1.17%; EFA (I-fund): -1.23%.

Tuesday's MSCI EAFE shows a loss of only -0.09% for the I-fund. Between noon and closing time, the market indices lost: -0.67% (Dow); -0.70% (S&P); -0.61% (DWCPF). But the EFA only moved -0.28% due to the falling dollar. A gain or loss of half a percent usually triggers an FV, so which index has more weight? I don't even want to hazard a guess. :D

TNA: -3.30% (YTD: +51.09%). Better batten down the hatches. :worried:

So I'm curious. Is the FV going to kick the I funders in the pants tonight?

We could say that on Monday the I fund owes us .61%. So we could be on the plus side .61% right off the bat. Perhaps?
