I hope your tracker has read the signals correctly, because I followed it to the I fund COB today! (We are definitely the minority here).

Hey Ebb,
You and I are pretty much anchoring the bottom of the weekly tracker. I've got you beat by 1/100th of a percent! :D I'm watching your tracker and TSP-go-high-risk's tracker to see which strategy appears to work the best. While I wait to see how you guys do I'm doing an L-fund-like spread, long term with monthly or quarterly rebalancing.
kinda got the idea from Birchtree(hat tip). I like what you're doing, keep up the hard work, it's appreciated.

Ebb,

Great work. I didn't always agree with your moves last year, but I like the new ebbtracker a lot. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, Beavis! That's funny, last year I had difficulty agreeing with some of my moves, also. In the world of trading, I'm still a newbie, and still learning. Before I joined (June) the TSP tracker, I was already up over +15% and ended up with another +17%, so I did get my goal of +30%. Nothing has changed, 30% remains to be my target for this year. I even missed (more like forgot) a couple of IFTs that cost me a couple of thousands. Good luck on your investments. :)

I was actually pulling for the Dow Jones to pull up this afternoon. The market didn't do so bad, more advances than declines, and the Nasdaq and S&P 500 came out positive. :)

Ebb... Thank you! I understand now. I appreciate your patience with 'slow' people like myself that don't understand this stuff very well. All I know is that I see the returns that other people are getting and it makes me turn green. It seems like if I do an IFT, whatever I move into for that day takes a nose dive. Then when I move back to the G fund, the C,S,I funds all go up! Thanks again!!!!

You're welcome, USNAVYRETIRED! I was like you before I came to this board. Keep reading the different threads here about the Market and I-fund and you would be up to speed in no time. We all have Tom Crowley to thank for that.

Thanks, Remo! When I started posting my new ebbtracker's (cross-checking incl.) moves, I already thought of following the simple rules I talked about before. I only realized how effective it really was when I did the tabulations around the 27th. I only caught the last four moves which netted me a cool +1.43%. If I had followed it the right way since its inception, I would have gotten +3.33% in the last couple of weeks. Good luck with your investments. :)

Weatherweenie, I have updated the ebbtracker and here's the link: http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/showthread.php?t=2949&page=38;page#446

ebbnflow,

Very interesting with what you are doing here with your tracking and all.

Since I am new at all this strategy with doing IFT and trying to absorb this site with everyones input and all, I need to understand your ebbtracker just a bit more.

On your current ebbtracker update for next week, where it has System and under Tuesday it says S. Are you saying that the S fund for Tuesday is going to be your choice for that day and would you be going 100% into the S fund or only a certain percentage to S and then a percentage to somewhere else?

My intention of course is to be doing IFT stuff with the best strategy that can get me going better with all this. I will make my own decisions of course with what I do, but any input will help me make the best decisions with it all.

Anyhoo, I will start with this question and go from there.

This is all interesting and thank you for your time and efforts.

Hi ya Wolverine! Yep, you read it right, the S-fund is the ebbtracker's fund of choice for Tuesday, and I go 100% on a single fund every time out. We sure have a lot of different ideas on this board. I used to track only the I-fund, and I recently implemented the C-fund and S-fund into the system to create a cross-checking function. It's doing great, but it's only been a couple of weeks, so I'd be keeping a close eye on it. :D

You're mighty welcome, Spaf! I have learned so much more from the other members of the board. Trying to contribute and help is what it's all about. :D

Howdy Hi ebbnflow! That's good I read it right then. lol

I have been looking at this 6 day run up with the S fund now and I have to pause a bit and wonder if it will pause a bit also. What kind of evaluation would you have with that in regards to this 6 day run?

I am kinda split yet with doing anything through tuesday as of now though. I want to see what Monday brings, with a possible re-entry wednesday back into stocks. Lots of things to look at for sure. Yes, I will be keeping a close eye on all this.

I am ahead of the game for January and want to keep on the plus side more than the minus side of course. Close to 2% I did for January it looks like.

Thanks again for your time and efforts.

Wolverine, I would say the trend is up! I used to let prices slide up 'cause I'm waiting for it to come down to get back in. Weeks and months would pass by without me making a move. Well, those days are gone. If my tracker says the price is still trending up, I'm in. As they say, you've got to be in it to win it. Good luck and good trading. :)

ebbnflow, yes I can see what you are saying here also. This will be my first month ever in the TSP doing IFT stuff also. I have increased my account of course, but not like I would like. This is a new beginning and I want a piece of this pie that others here are getting. If 3-4% can be done a month, then that is what I want to go for.

Yes, I say, you are either in or out. Make the decision with all the info you can gather and go for it. If wrong, then take it as is and go another day. Gotta keep going forward though.

I am not expecting this first month of strategy to be where I want to be at the end of it. This first month of doing all this will test my temperment of how I see things and what I do with what I see. This is such an individual effort with all this and I plan to keep the pace in order to accomplish what I have set out to do here.

Thank you for your time and effort with all this.

I was just checking how I did last year and discovered that at one point, I was down by as much as -7.5% (in a span of 34 days). The good news was that I still managed to beat the I-fund by the end of the year. So, to all members raking the bottom at this juncture, don't be discouraged 'cause your time will come. :)

A friend asked me if I really went down -7.5%, so I better clarify that with a yes, but not in a straight line. I dropped, recovered, dropped and then recovered again. Both months I ended up posting good gains (May and June). :)

May and June were tough months for many of us, but you seem to have recovered faster than most.

Ebbnflow,

I went 100S effective COB today. If you are planning to take control and decide to override, I'll appreciate that you do it with ample time before 12 EST. Thank you!
