Diesel, my two cents is that your investing tools and advisors have to 'click' with your style of investing, and nobody can tell what that is but you.

For me, Trader Fred works as a paid service, Marketsci and QuantifiableEdges are good blogs, and Alphatrends and Ira Epstein are good videos. Greenfaucet is one of several sites I use for information articles. On this MB, I always pay attention to anything that Robo posts, Coolhand has excellent instincts and opinions, and if Bullitt suggests that a person become more familiar with a book or advisor I run, don't walk, to find out more. And of course, I always read posters like Squalebear, Poolhand, Silverbird, Alevin, Malyla and the list goes on and on.

I post on other boards as well. This is the only one that I've participated in that has a feature that allows folks to track their returns. That's fine and dandy if that's what one is interested in. I find that it introduces an element of competition. The market is tough enough to deal with without that.

I've learned enough to know who I should listen to and who I shouldn't. Past returns are never indicative of future expectations. :cool:

I don't care if you or anyone else says they are making 110% return every month, I'm here to learn and hopefully make enough to maintain my funding level guidelines that I have set for myself. If I worried about being beat, I'd be sick all the time. So you and everyone else keep on sharing your ideas, cause that's what makes the MB as great as it is. :D

Thanks for everyone's input to my question. I have been to stockcharts.com and investopedia and read many of their articles and definitions of the TA chart tools.
Still researching the paid sites but I'm with you XL-entlady. I'm not one to throw money into a fund for a day and take it out the next day to see a 3-4% gain. I'm looking for gains that are more obvious to spot, 5-6 day positive swing before pulling out. Still learning.

Wanted to post this earlier, but I have been busy.

Since the Bear started in 2007 I will post that return first. I will also post my 2008 annual statement when I receive it and I'm willing to have both verified by Tom for those that think I'm spouting my horn.

We shall see about 2009 since I don't hang around here much anymore. Heck - I'm having so much fun I might even join the Bad News Bears. (Minus the double digit negative returns of most of them of course.) The Bulls didn't do much better either. But I'm not a Bull or a Bear - I'm a trader..... Not a great return in 2007 - but my goal is always 7% to 10% every year in my TSP account, in Bull or Bear Markets.... Oh, one more thing - I never just except what is - and make the best of it. Where there's a will there's a way!
