burrocrat's Account Talk

Re: burros-ark

Wow, creepy DBA, same room number as in "The Shining", good thing you moved to another room but, did you order and drink some of that "RED RUM" to calm your nerves?

Re: burros-ark

Warning: creepy if it gives you the goose bumps. DBA, this kid will take the edge off before you slam a shot of Vodka. Best get off the subject.

Re: burros-ark

early burros-ark update: crazy stuff in the market, not a single arker made a trade this week, first time ever. blowout dissapointing statistics from the politburo. uncertainty in the war world. european, russian, and arab financial relations strained. could be a whopper, could be a dud. big moon though, this is like number 3 big moon recently, it cumulatively pulls on folks if you haven't noticed. easy shake out this week again, by the numbers. <1 eclipsed, 1-3 bane, 3-5 boon, 5+ moon, 7+ equals quit showing off already hawk what do you think we are, oysters? enjoy the world all, it is a good time to be alive.

signal: hold. system is on a sell signal for the last two weeks and confirmed again. el vira is at 3% vs. 0% last week. if you're out, stay out. if you're in, get out. arkers are net long only 58%, again, still.

surprise downer on the friday jobs number when markets are closed, ooohh the uncertainty! fed's hands tied now so no rate increase equals more free money? or zombie apacolypse now? who cares. it's a 3-day market recess and i've no doubt a new table will be set prior to monday's open. maybe the easter bunny lays us all a big goose egg (do bunnies even lay eggs?), or maybe we all get some candy. there is caution and an underlying defensive feel to the arkers this week, waiting. the potential volatility at the beginning of next week is not well-suited to the weekly trading limitations of the ark system so it's gonna sit this one out. but spring is in the air, and donkey is looking for a quick setup score. there could be a slammin' opportunity tue-thur if things play out right.

Re: burros-ark

wheee! there is nothing like a sinking stone close, a drop in the last hour of the trading day, to quiet a financial investing message board. yeah baby, volatility is back!

how sweet would it be to see a 2%-5% mini crash over the next few days and catch a bounce up? happy hunting, and remember kids, know your target before you pull the trigger.

Re: burros-ark

Hey burro dude. You are posting a lot tonight. I can't keep up as it is past bedtime and home has been just like work tonight. One "crisis" after another to "fix"

Back to my original intention several hours ago. I was trying to catch up on posts since 3/31.

Thanks for the sixth grade humor thing. My thought is that if your sixth grader shares these thoughts with you that you must be taking time to actually talk to him. That is a good thing. Even if you find out stuff you wish you never knew of. Keep it up. My experience as a non custodial parent has been that you can be best buds with your kids but at some point you have to become the parent. For the custodial parent this has to be much harder to find the line between the two. You seem to be doing fine and keep the conversations going. Just my opinionated opinion about someone who talks to his kid and is proud enough to share it.

The other thought was about you saying you were Dutch and me remembering goldmember (Mike Myers films) was also Dutch.

Best regards

PO

burros-ark update: very interesting action, for the 2nd week in a row not a single arker has bought in. last week everybody stood pat, but this week some heavies doubt the direction of the market and lightened their load, that is significant. of course plenty of us have already been sitting this one out, waiting for doomsday, why is it always so slow? a couple have just enough hope to keep their toes in the stream. and a few brave souls trundle blindly along full of nothing but faith. i think they may dumb as a bag of hammers in this case, but what do i know, the returns don't lie.

signal: sell. the system has been on a hold from a prior sell signal for the last few weeks, but this is a strong new confirmation. el vira is at -14% vs. 3% last week, a major flip. although close to the pessimistic level that would trigger a contrarian buy, this is not it. this is a prolonged and fundemental pessimism. this bear could have teeth, no sense poking it just to see if it will get up, the risk does not justify the potential reward. arkers are net long only 43%, how dreary, doom and gloom.

it is going to take a pretty serious shakeout i think before the ark sentiment sees a bargain and pushes the buy button. donkey on the other hand is waiting for that quick chance to catch a falling knife.

Re: burros-ark

Well I bailed today, 100% G. Looking like I'm a lucky duck getting out on a down day. Bulls can't hold the bears back. Hope it's not a 10 story dive...

Burro, do you know how a gentleman is supposed to handle his heinie horn? Maybe this video will help those gentlemen who are curious. This seems to be the topic of choice with the "gentlemen" at my office.
