burrocrat's Account Talk

Re: burros-ark

i got out friday and missed today's late last minute drop, but burros-ark trades only the first day of the week and i had just bragged over the weekend that the ark had made it's may money already (1% per month times 5 months).

awwww, so of course mr. mean ole bully market has to tease me all day and then come steal 0.20% of my tsp candy right before the bell rings. same as it ever was. i'm very glad now that i am out. i am afraid some folks in the market tomorrow are going to get waxed.

I'll take the skin of my teeth exit and eat the .26% =:-o

Re: burros-ark

(another long gentleman lesson today).

in signature: when a gentleman is confronted by arguments he finds foolish, he does not attemt to refute them with reason.

out signature: instead, he keeps silent, knowing that logic is useless in the war against irrationality.

this seems particularly good timing, as i was recently advised to "STFU, pour a beer in my bowl of fruit loops, and quit being a victim". i am proud that i have not responded in kind to the provocation and have been enjoying my silence. i can also attest that following the nutritional advice resulted in the waste of a good beer and ruined a perfectly good bowl of cereal. as for the victim part, i guess if one cannot respond intelligently to the substance of an argument, the next best thing is to bash and denigrate your opponent in hopes of silencing them or devaluing opposite viewpoints. that way even if you lose, you've drug everybody down into the muck with you.

Re: burros-ark

i don't think i will be getting back into the market until things calm down some and greece exits the euro. which, by my calculations, should be about next thursday or so.

How many beers did it take for you to come up with next Thursday?

just one beer, but it was a big bowl, and the fruit loops soaked up a bunch of it making for a suprising chemical reaction that triggered a moment of brilliant clarity.

Re: burros-ark

You know Burro...your new cause to me a gentleman has me a little concerned. I just read one of your posts and saw your line about gentlemen not claiming to have seen movies or read books they did not. I'm glad your seeking " help", but it's really not necessary. It's simple: A gentlemen is a nice considerate person that is diplomatic and happens to be male. So just be you!!

Now if you tell a dirty joke just for shock or entertainment value, not meant to do harm and they like it, it just lets you know (in the words of Michael Hutchence), "You're one of my kind!" But just don't do that at work... The political correctness police will slap you around and then throw you out. Hum.... Then again, some females might do the same!! Lol....but maybe you already know that! Best wishes on your new endeavors..... and cheers to "brilliant clarity". :D

Re: burros-ark

burros-ark update: 2 arkers outtie, and 1 innie. hawk is kickin' it, doin' the autotracker proud, yeah buddy! pretty easy breakdown this week, by the numbers: greater than 4% doing swell, 2% - 4% holding full belly, less than 2% missed some trades picking belly button. fresh month 2 new trades in the magazine here soon, i think i might wait a while to pull the trigger though.

thank you for your support annie. somedays i think i am making progress, and other days i only go backwards. i'm not sure if this is going to work, but i keep trying, that's what gentlemen do.

bottom line i'm learning seems to be: you can take a man out of the street, but you can't take the street out of a man. we all have fundamental, inherent qualities that make us who we are, unique. and that's a good thing. even if one disagrees with the way another is, we have to respect their right to be messed up if that is who they are. yay diversity!

Re: burros-ark

denver is a vortex. it always has been. you can practically hear the vwoompf (like a light saber) sound when you pass the boundary. it's electrifying, makes my arm hairs stand on end, all tingly. so it is no surprise they are now the capital of the organic nirvana agriculture production world. it's called the mile high city for a reason, you know? to each their own. plus you can see like, forever man, from those mountains.

Re: burros-ark

denver. because of that stephen king novel 'the stand'.
Huh... not sure about that Stephen King novel. Never read it but Denver is nice. Evan's point is very nice... I think the highest driveable road in the US, or something like that.

Didn't SK also have The Shining set someplace in Colorado too???? Was it the Lookout hotel or something like that. Soooo creepy. I can't watch that one anymore. Its been at least 10 years.. just creeps me out so bad. Oh... and when I used to travel, one of my fellow travelers noticed the room I was in had the same number... or maybe they were just teasing me. I had to move to another room! :worried: The scariest I will watch is something like "The Others".

Hum... Rocky Mountain High! I think I'll start humming a few bars....

I drove up Mt Evans once. I believe you're right that its the highest driveable road in the US, and its paved, too. I got up there so quick that I was kinda dizzy. I had to concentrate on each step to make sure I didn't tumble back down.

The Shining is in Estes Park, I think. I started watching that a couple months ago and I had to turn it off when those twin girls showed up. Way too spooky!
