burrocrat's Account Talk

Interesting? Nope, that would be a miracle.

and while we're on the subject of miracles...

would you believe i heard the best sermon ever just the other day, led by a goat whisperer, in an old pioneer prairie church. there was bible readings and stuff, i got called up to the altar, listened to a wonderful impromptu hymn played by same said goat whisperer on an old piano in the corner by a potbellied stove, and finally got dismissed whereupon the preacher shook my hand as i was leaving.

i swear i heard her say under her breath as i passed by "you can be my mom's friend, but she is not your girlfriend."

Sad News :(

It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of our mutual friend Matt Shell (aka burrocrat) at 5:45pm on August 7[SUP]th[/SUP].

Some of his favorites things included poker, camping, silver, Survivor, guns, women, golfing with his son, Jockey boxer briefs, t*tt*es and getting banned by Tom(not necessarily in that order).

My daughter and I had the pleasure of meeting him earlier this year in North Dakota. He was kind and attentive to me and my daughter and an incredibly loving father to his son. I can still hear my daughter calling out “Hey Flooorrrr Matttt” to which he replied “Yes Miss Olivia”.

I could not have met a better man and although our time was short, I am forever grateful that we had the opportunity to meet. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.

If I should die before the rest of you,
Break not a flower nor inscribe a stone.
Nor, when I’m gone, speak in a Sunday voice,
But be the usual selves that I have known.
Weep if you must,
Parting is hell.
But life goes on,
So… sing as well.

Just going back through his posts, he brings such a smile to my face!

Someone should go back and collect all his 'burro-isms' and life lessons into a book. It would sell millions.
but what to call it? It would have to be edgy, but simple. Heartfelt, pure, joyous, down to earth, generous, honest, 'tell it like it is' kind of title.

He is genuinely missed. Enjoy your 'silver in the sky', burro!

Has anyone found and read Burrocrat's obituary from his hometown local newspaper?? If anyone has found it can you post it, it'd be nice to read the Eulogy and tribute from family and friends. Perhaps Tom or JPC can provide us with Matt's obit info.

Re: sitting in a tree

Aw darn! What a shock. Burro was a legend around here. He will be missed for sure. Condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. RIP burro.
