What Happened To Global Warming, it's NOT!!

Re: What Happened To Global Warming

Just saw the Ed Begley interview on Faux News. He's right. The air is cleaner in Los Angeles by an enormous amount today because we addressed the pollution problem by limiting the amount of emissions from cars and from industry.

Let's take a look at the science on global warming before we jump to any conclusions. Now, a lot of industries are interested in stopping laws from going into place that will limit their profits, so they're spending a lot of money to do just that.

We did and found it to be flawed, hoaxed, fudged and skewed...Enough of looking at the science of global warming...The world is in fact ROUND!

Re: What Happened To Global Warming

Yes it does work in the BASIN, but has a way to go. Stuff just has no where to go, the mountains keep all the heavy particles and ozone right in the San Fernando Valley, I lived there in the 1950s it was worse then. It wasn't just the automobiles though.

The San Fernando Valley is about 260 square miles (670 km2)[1] bounded by the Santa Susana Mountains to the northwest, the Simi Hills to the west, the Santa Monica Mountains to the south, the Verdugo Mountains to the east, and the San Gabriel Mountains to the northeast. The Sierra Pelona Mountains (to the north) can be seen in parts of the San Fernando Valley from the gap between the Santa Susana and San Gabriel (Newhall Pass).

Other places out there are getting the same high level of particulats and ozone!! Where is the CO2?
The cool breeze from the ocean blows the polution right back into California on a daily basis!!

Bakersfield, Calif.
At Uricchio’s Trattoria, a street café on 17th Street, the smell of sizzling garlic wafts into the air tinged lightly with the aroma of … exhaust. And despite the perfect blue sky, the view of the mountains surrounding this Central Valley city is obscured by a ruddy haze.
As Lois and Jill Moreland sip coffee and spear salad greens, they comment on the placement of a national story on smog in the Bakersfield Californian newspaper. “It only made the cover of the B-section,” says Lois.
Bakersfield has moved into first place as the city with the most fine particulate pollution, according to report released Wednesday by the American Lung Association, which annually ranks America’s cities with the unhealthiest air. Last year, the city was third behind Pittsburgh and Los Angeles.
For the third year in a row, Bakersfield ranks as the nation’s second smoggiest city. It comes in just behind Los Angeles in the cities most polluted by ozone, the gas that forms a major component of smog.
Local TV has already broadcast the story and national reporters have shown up, but the Moreland sisters seem unfazed. “Smog is a way of life here,” says Jill.
It’s been more than a decade since the first reports about the growing pollution threatening America’s most diverse and productive farm counties here in the Central Valley. The reasons for the pollution are manifold, including dust from tractors and mist from fertilizers and pesticides that grow half the nation’s produce.
But the topography and meteorological conditions make matters worse – and make the problem hard to solve. The city is boxed in on three sides by mountains. Inversion layers – which act like a lid on the air, holding the pollution close to the ground – are present in both winter and summer, and there is little or no wind to take the pollution elsewhere.
Kern County, in which Bakersfield is situated, and also ranks as the worst county in average annual particulate pollution, has made some efforts to reduce the pollution. [more]

Re: What Happened To Global Warming

Let's see, you have me posting something that I would never write. First, I never use profanity. It's inarticulate. Second, I would never make cliches a possessive. Cliches are.

By the way, you have an avatar of a Spartan. Did you realize that they were all homosexuals? It's okay by me, but I was just curious if you knew that. Look it up. It's in the history books.

Re: What Happened To Global Warming

Those that don't want to admit to this..fine..take it to Mars..

Okay for the rest of us normal people, back to normal life again..the ice caps aren't melting the way the tree-huggers
treehugger-1.gif
wanted us to think, the oceans will not flood the world's coast lines ..so enough of this anti-carbon BS!!!...Question is, who will hold accountable these leaflickers for the countless millions that they have cost industry and us for this hoax? Can they Take back Algore's Nobel?
I think I read, and agreed with the theory that the Ice Caps are melting due to increased solar activity and it convinced me that it was actually true. The only problem I have with that is the consensus by the Global Warming crew was that it is caused by CO2. I agree with the Science that identified the cause to be that the sun is going through a heightened solar flare activity that happens in known time periods. in the year 2012 it will reach it's peak (freaky Mayans). When the earth is effected by this activity the energy from the SUN effects the POLAR areas of the earth much more than the rest of the earth. This can actually be seen and it happens, we all know of the "Northern Lights" (Aura Borealis) at the north pole. We will have more of the same and more melting then the sun will slowly cool and our poles will cool again, then the CROOKS can try the same con game with the next coming of the ICE AGE!!

I lived in SoCal for 20 years. California has the tightest auto emission standards in the country. That's the main reason for the reduced smog. It has nothing to do with global warming, just like the Brit was trying to say. But then, Ed wouldn't allow a two-way conversation. He was making sure he had the last word. :D

I see. So the reduced auto emissions are what caused the air to be cleaner. Did you read the science behind global warming?

Re: What Happened To Global Warming

Did you read the science behind global warming?

You mean the science as exposed by all those "inconvienent" emails?

You mean the science that squashed any dissent from equally schooled and knowledgeable climatologists?

I don't generally read fictional stories.

Let's not lose our COOL over this thing!!!!:D tapfingers.gif

You are sick and I hope you leave us sooner than later....When are you gonna get a clue that you are not liked here and in most cases despised on this MB..GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phil u really need to do your research.
There has always been smog in LA, this info was published back in the 70s, one source was the Life Extension book by Durk Pearson. Same reason the smokey mountains get their name it is natural to the area.

The Chumash Indian name for what is now the Los Angeles area translates to “the valley of smoke,” according to Gordon J. MacDonald, a geophysicist and professor formerly with the University of California, San Diego.

http://www.eagleforum.org/ The UN is now behind all of it. The info is out there, if one whats to think outside of the box.
If anybody wants insight to this, one has to read the book "the Greening" by Larry H. Abraham http://www.lawfulpath.com/ref/greening.shtml
I have the book and read it in the early '90s. most has come to past as he documented.

Unfortunately, now we are beginning to understand what the second one means and what the first says about us.

Re: What Happened To Global Warming

I see. So the reduced auto emissions are what caused the air to be cleaner. ...

Wasn't the reduced auto emissions goal a vital part of cleaning up the atmosphere? I know you don't mean to be implying that it didn't work ...my undeerstanding is the benefits have been enormous.
Is there a possiblity the original cost to the auto industry will turn out to be one of the least expensive to the average American? It seems like the cost to the dairy farmers & cattlemen to reduce the amount of the methane gas burped by their livestock will increase the cost of their products, will cause some gnerational family-inherited farms to go out of business, will reduce the amount of taxes paid into the government. There is, tho, the thought that this will then eliminate the family inheritance tax on those traditional family businesses, will open land for sale for either big corporation farms or concrete parking lots, and even might have extra corn & other grains available for alternate fuels - heavens-to-betsy - why use good corn, milk, meat for feeding our population???
...sorry - getting carried away -
Phil, my original question is why I responded...
-? reduced auto emissions are doing their job - reducing the smog in certain areas of California towns?

Re: What Happened To Global Warming

I didn't post that California was WARMING. I agreed that there is an Air Pollution problem there and has been for years and years. Mostly due to geographical topography and the direction of the prevailing winds. What has Particulates and Ozone have to do with CO2 anyway? JEEEZS!!:suspicious:
Think about it, I don't think the Indians were imagining the Smoke!!

Thank you, Valkyrie, - the Indian names for these places is enlightening!
As to the "greatest nation in the world" & "join me as we try to change it" -it seems the population was not yet aware of this fellow's propensity for saying what was hidden in his mind, but bringing it forth in a sleight of hands, or mostly now, unintentionally verbalizing it. And it appears he & those he includes in the `we' may be thinking they are well on their way to succeeding... :suspicious:

Impossible, given that Sparta existed over a thousand years. If ALL Spartans were homosexual, there would have been no procreation and the city state would have died on it's own in less than one hundred years.

I think we've said it all, becoming repetitive. I'll bet there will be a bunch more to talk about when Obama signs the Copenhagen Pacto!! Yes I think he will, he really doesn't care that GW isn't the result of CO2 or anything else.
