Obama's rumored intentions are to sign the Copenhagen Scampacto on the 9th of this month. When approved this opens the door for the CAP and TAX bill to continue on its merry way to approval. This is a BIG one Folks, Write, Call, bitch whatever it takes for him to ask for an investigation by a private org. to prove or not the COOKING OF THE BOOKS on Global Warming. When I began studying a certain tribe of the Native Americans, I started with a book dwelling on their 'customs' and the roots of their culture.

So if someone were to ask me what were the core features of their society: How did they view the Great Spirt and the various features of our world? How was music itself incorporated in the wide aspects of their existence? How did they come to 'classify' a wide variety of animals and what is there position on the Totom Pole? How did they regard babies as parents and as a tribe (extended family)? What was the basis by which they built their dwellings and the way they were positioned and who slept where. How did they begin to date. What were the ways they traveled and how did the guys differ from the girls?

We can't know how the Spartans beleived without really digging into and understanding all these aspects of their existence. How did they view themselves -- their origins and so forth.

The wikipedia is an open source available to anyone and everyone to edit as they please -- regardless of who they are or if they in fact have any real knowledge of the subject matter.

In an effort to bring Coolhand back -- so all of us can benefit with his notable input -- I would ask:

What did the Spartans believe??

I know it will not do any good, but I intend to inundate my Senators with mail, email, and phone calls opposing the President signing this compact! I will also send an email to the White House opposing the compact. If you intend to do the same, make sure you're not on duty when you do it.

I had to look it up when the obamatons, and our resident socialists, started using it to describe Americans standing up and expressing their free speech as allowed by the US Constitution, but they never call anybody names, they just insinuates it like a little girl, and yep, that's name calling. So sack up and say whay ya mean.

In this busy world, the less work people have to do, the more likely they will be to make the effort to contact their congressmen and women.

Thanx for re-posting this. It was one of those things `gotta get this done..' but never get to it. Anyway, in a matter of 30 minutes I have spoken to the clerks at my two Senator's offices, the clerks at the four Arkansas Representatives, and left a message on Gov Beebe's answering machine! Only one was not cheerful, but that may have been d/t a lousy cup of coffee day!
