The later the deadline the better, in my opinion. Just means I have an extra couple of hours of market trend to base my move on.

That's correct MM. But there are four hours between the time of the IFT is entered and the time when it becomes effective (at close). As we all know the market is a wild beast that in four hours it changes direction and covers a lot of ground.

Even if we were limited to one transaction per day, the ideal thing would be that the transaction becomes effective inmediately when entered. eg: Any transaction entered before noon would be effective at noon. But .. this is all wishful thinking.

My undestanding is things are almost back to normal in KW. Is that correct?

We are still struggling with cold showers, generators noise all over and with the promise that by Nov 12 we should have power.

You are right. Except that if you like to make frequent IFT's, then the extra couple of hours of market trend will not do much for you if your transaction becomes effective four hours after you enter it.

On your count of 4 then sell signal, does it have to be 4 consecutive days in a row? The S and C funds were down on tuesday. Also, when do you sell the high risk section?

[font="Comic Sans MS,Comic Sans,Times New Roman"]Sell= When the price line (RED) crosses SMA-1 (Green) line going down or after a count of four positives days, four neutral days or a combination of positive and neutral days. Start the count after the day the IFT is executed. Ignore negative days unless they triggered a sell signal.

Everywhere I go I see people's furnishings and appliances lining the streets -- if you own an appliance store or a furniture store the storm will have a silver lining for you. Thousands of cars were totalled by seawater including mine. I signed the title and paid $50 to have it hauled away. It died a hydrologic death, succumbed to the weather appropriately enough.

"Hello, vehicle registration."

"Yes, I'd like to register my car as a vessel."

"I beg your pardon!"

"It was afloat during the storm. Unregistered, it was a navigation hazard and thuslegitimate salvage. So I want to register it as aprecaution against the next time."

"I see. Well, is it a power boat or a sailboat?"

"Unfortunately the motor is inoperable while at sea, so let's say sail."

"Number of masts?"

"Zero."

"Sail area?"

"Zero."

"Not much of a sailboat is it."

"It only goes to sea during hurricane conditions, so you don't want a lot of sail area."

When I saw the photos of the cars & buses that had been soaked with Katrina, it brought to mind the flood up in -? Indiana ?- some years agowhen the river flooded towns up to their chimneys. Consumer Reports later came out with an article about used car buyers needing to be very careful because there were a lot of flood vehicles showing up in the market.

Seems like it was the Missouri River, but in that case it wasn't Indiana - Unimportant trivia,

Would someone review my IFT's and help me figure out why the significant discrepancy between the spreadsheets (Pyriel's) and Fundsurfer's?. Fundsurfer's shows TSPGO as 2.81 to the end of October Vs 3.37

The last spreadsheet shows in September TSPGO as 4.41 for the Year and 1.26 for September, 2005.

Transactions:

IFT Request before noon 09-30-05: G = 05 F = 00 C = 25 S = 30 I = 40

IFT Request before noon 10-05-05: G = 30 F = 00 C = 00 S = 30 I = 40

IFT Request before noon 10-06-05: G = 100 F = 00 C = 00 S = 00 I = 00

The C-Fund and the S-Fund seem to be completing a "Cup and Handle" formation. Wait for the handle to be formed. ( the retracing). Get back in when the subsequent breakout takes place. Always keep in mind that the possibility exist that the pattern will fail, and breakout in a downtrend.

Welcome Glenn. Sorry I did not respond to your post sooner. I rarely come to this area except when I am ready to post a move. Here I post the 5-5-10 Rule signals. It would be better if you would post your questions, commnents, etc, in Tspgo_com Account Talk.
I don't know of a calculator. However, for the buy and sell signals for the Low Risk Strategy posted at http://www.TSPGO.com I use a software. The predictions for the SP500 index and for the TSP Funds are made using a type of pattern prediction software, called 'artificial neural network' software. It evaluates current financial market conditions, and then takes a guess as to what the most likely price level is for the S&P in the future. The system is not magic, and it will fail, but is right more often than not. It is helpful in making TSP interfund transfers decisions with respect to the C-Fund. I use it only for the C-Fund because it is too time consuming. If you go to http://www.tspgo.com/tspgomain.htm#lowifts you see the number of IFT's for this strategy. They are too few and it tend to miss the big rallies.

As you can see all of them are winning transactions, however it misses the big rallies.
