I won't be back until after 4:30 this evening. If somebody gets it right just move on without me.

It's got something to do with the thickness of the metal. I only know that much because I have two friends who are blacksmiths. {Edited to add: if you're a blacksmith, make that "three friends!"} One of them goes to mountain man rendezvous and the other has multi-hour horse rides at a backcountry park.

But that's all I know, which is upsetting :nuts:, and I refuse to Google a trivia question! :laugh:

My grandfather was a blacksmith. About all I know is, don't pick up the hot horseshoe nails. Learned that one the hard way. Isn't Lady close? Don't you tap the hot end to make it thicker?

I think Kevin's grin in the post after Lady's answer was his agreement - Lady is correct ...tapping one end of the bar to change the thickness at the other, or something like that.

Great job Fab! We have a winner. Interesting election results. Tilden won the popular vote and led the electoral votes 184 to 165 with 20 votes in dispute. All 20 disputed electoral votes were awarded to Rutherford B. Hayes which gave him the election (185 to 184). Florida was one of the states with disputed electoral votes. Hmmmm!
