Steadygain's Account Talk

Steady,

I wonder how long it will take before luv2read throws in the towel and gets on the train? We certainly need that doubtful attitude during this first leg up - that makes the bull happy. On a train run from LA to NY we are now at Las Vegas - luv2read my jump on at Chicago or Scranton. Anyway I think luv2read has moderator potential in the future.
LOL! Birch, just because I see what's going on and comment on it doesn't mean I'm not along for the ride. You don't have to be driving the train to be riding the rails. I'm happy in the passenger car for now.

Me, A mod? That's quite a compliment coming from you. Thank you very much!:o:)

Steady,

Thanks for the kind words. I also enjoy our discussions. Our MB is a community with opinions as diverse as the members who visit it. That's what makes it the wonderful tool it is. Kudos to Tom and the techies, too!:D

She's on board from what I can tell!

You sure you're not in the "bar car"? J/K

I had to take a few months off the board due to a switch in jobs. Going from the Air Force to the Navy has been F....U....er fun! That's it. It's great to see a new face with a lot to offer the board. Thanks Luv!

Thanks Frixxxx. I was in the caboose for awhile, moved up to observation car. Yeah, bar car sounds good! Nice and relaxing! Join me!:D

Voo Doo Mentality

To a large degree that seems to be what governs our decisions on when to go in and when to get out.

The 2 month S&P 500 continues to show a steady gain but seems to be leveling off.

The SUSTAINED STRENGTH prevails and even if the Markets break even or there is a slight dip - THE STRENGTH CONTINUES and can not be disguarded.

My hunch - and this is strickly a hunch - the STRENGTH will continue. Next week will bring "further good news" and the REAL MONEY will push the Markets Higher. So I will probably stay another week.

IF I HAD UNLIMITED TRADES - WOULD SELL TODAY - HOLD THE GAINS AND REASSESS IN THE NEAR FUTURE. IF I GO TO SAFETY NOW THEN I'M OUT UNTIL JUNE.

I understand what your saying Steady -- I got caught up in the hype about the sky falling first week of May and went to safety -- now with limited moves I'm still sitting here waiting on good opportunity to play again -- missed some pretty good gains, but as sure as I jump in and chase, well you know.........

Recent update shows S&P 500 to exceed 1500 in '09'

http://www.reuters.com/article/marketsNews/idINL168694320080516?rpc=44

I'm citing this article because it strongly supports the basis of my TSP investments. They most certainly expect "encouraging news" to push the Markets higher. The Financial/Housing Sector has most certainly dominated the Markets over the past year and when it looks like the worse is over - EXPECT A SURGE.

I now look for a SURGE - before a huge drop - but I in no way believe the SURGE will continue throughout the year.

The bulls have been saying "the worst is over" (it's not). The surge is here. The drop is coming...soon.;)

LONDON, May 16 (Reuters) - European shares pared some gains late on Friday as U.S. consumer sentiment hit its worst level in 28 years in early May, as short-term inflation expectations hit their highest since the stagflationary early 1980's.
down she goes....;)

down she goes....;)

There's more than enough to support a drop on many levels.

If today's drop was really sparked by FEAR - especially by what you presented - it would be HUGE - I mean we'd be down at least 1 or 2%

Try to ignore "all news" and simply look at the picture. Today is a mild consolidation at best.

Hehehe! Steady and I just having some give n take...we like and respect each other, don't worry!:D

That's one of the reasons the MB exists...;)

Steady knows I look at TA, "the real world" and the media, and all must jive before I believe any of the media pumping. Government numbers are bogus, don't believe them. Believe what your eyes tell you in the stores, at the pump, and on the street.

I like to look at TA's too
