Steadygain's Song Available for All

The song was composed in my Music Room many years prior when I was playing acoustic guitar. This has always been one of my favorites because I thought the guitar sounded so beautiful and I can't think of one that more deeply expressed the love and gratitude that filled me during that era.

If anyone wants to hear it - just send me your email address in my Privage Message and I'll email to you. It's a Windows Media File about 3.5 MB.

Please see my posting in my MB wife's thread - for more details - as I explain a little about the song and why this is the perfect time.

Peace, Happiness, and Love to all ;) :):)

For me the bottom line is results and the one that steers me in the best direction is the one I'll follow. I am amazed with the skill JeffATC has accomplished his gains - especially the past 3 months. Will go 100% I Fund @ COB today.

I sent my song to all who sent their email to my Private Box then checked out the sent version and it worked well. Happy NEW YEAR to all and many happy returns. :)

1) It is ATCJeff - not JeffATC - my apologies - but the same message applies; he is one I'll follow for now.

2) I sent the song using a string of email addresses and apparently one address didn't work - so I'm afraid no one got it. Went back and sent them seperately to each and so far things look good.

"Excellent song! I thoroughly enjoyed it this morning. After several times of listening to it I found myself singing it. Excellent voice."

Will share feedback as I get it.

Thank you my friend - it is a gift I'm honored to give. Many on this MB have brought my musical aspect to life and CoMaGa's message all the more made me realize what a perfect opportunity this would be. This is also a good one for the acoustic concert Mamikin requested.

On the TSP stuff - it looks like a good buying day.

I joined the tracker a few minutes too late, so whatever gain (or loss) I start with will let you know on 1/2/08.

Speaking of Crimson and Clover, I knew I had heard it before, so I did some research and realized that I used to like a version by Simon and Garfunkel, but in retrospect I used to like Fleetwood Mac's rendition even better.

Cornellia - today is the big day - and I hope you have the best retirement ever !!

The Crimson and Clover song I had in mind is the original by Tommy James and the Shondells - which was #1 in 1969.

It had this beautiful - magical reverberating guitar sound that went: Waa waa Waa waa wa wa - kind of drifting on throughout the song and sung to a very soothing tune. Then at the end the singing breaks up with with reverberation - the first song to ever do it.

Crimson And Clover (T. James/P. Lucia)

Ah (wa wa wa wa wa wa), now I don't hardly know her (wa wa wa wa wa wa)
But I think I could love her (wa wa wa wa wa wa)
Crimson and clover (wa wa wa wa wa wa)

Ah when she comes walking over
Now I've been waitin' to show her
Crimson and clover over and over

Yeah, my, my such a sweet thing
I wanna do everything
What a beautiful feeling
Crimson and clover over and over

Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over

Don't know if you heard the original - but I bet you'd love it.

Thank you very much, it's been very tiring trying to out-process 3 sheets of required signatures for the last 2 weeks but today was the worst day, a lot of offices gave me appointments prior to the final out-process and they said they had to be done today, well, a lot of them were closed or barely open, so I always put it in God's hands, and somehow managed to get someone to sign off on the respective sheet, it turned out to be more stressing than necessary, as appts were made 2 wks ago. Now I need to go back and get a retiree ID, as that office was totally closed today. This morning while driving to work I kept thinking how blessed I was to be on my last hour-drive to work, but of course I now I have to go back to get that ID. Anyway, it feels great to be retired!!!

Steady, You are right, I believe that the one I liked was the one on the billboards, but it's that since you mentioned it, S.&Garfunkel stuck with me and I thought they were the first to record it. Thank you for bringing such good memories to all of us!

"What a beautiful song, I just loved the guitar and your singing was very touching, with lots of feeling."

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Well - the new year is off to a perfect start for those 100% I Fund. It took me amost 5 years to get my desired amount - which I hope to repeat in 2 years. I really appreciate the wealth of information this MB provides, as well as the incredibly deep friendships.

I must have missed earlier talk about Crimson and Clover. Startled me when I read the conversation above today, considering I bought a CD over the holidays of TJ and Shondells "best" including Crimson and Clover. Played it whenever I wasn't listening to my stash of Christmas music. :)

Wow, that's amazing - as it's a pretty old song from yesteryear. A member of the MB told me she wished she'd been part of the Hippie Generation and some of the guys here flooded me with memories of that era - especially a Pink Floyd concert. So I took her and bunch of others on this MB on a mind-trip adventure to the concert and we relived it together. Well to end the story on a good (and realistic note) on the way back home Crimson and Clover comes on the radio and everyone stops talking and grooves to the tune.

Welcome to the MB - there are a lot of excellent TSP gainers to learn from and a wealth of information here to help in your decisions. GL and many happy gains.

Thanks for the kind words. My personal TJ and S fav is Draggin' the Line, which is also on the CD I've been listening to.

This is regarding the song I wrote and recorded with a few of my friends. Forgive me - I honestly am not bragging but just sharing feedback as it arrives.

That is a very inspiring acoustic arrangement with very good vocals. Nice work!

Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it. :)

I have been listening to Led Zeppelin on a loop. It is amazing that the music today is crap compared to the late 60s-70s with old rock

Lava Lamps on my desk went on in your honor! Thank you, I've been going through a little dilemma lately and needed that laugh. The good ole fashioned days of a solid rhythm seems to have faded into total BS, forcing us to flip from one station to another in our desperate search to find something that really penetrates and moves us through and through. That's the main reason why the Hendrix in me will never die - and why the world at large is craving for a new sound that captures them on the same level the Beatles did. Someday it will happen and when it does that sound of the 60s - 70s will have all ages, all races, all genders moving to a beat that sweeps them away.

Have a great day 12% and thanks for the post.

The Wife and I had to go to a wedding last weekend....in Cleveland....who gets married in Cleveland, in late December ?? Why not Florida, or someplace warm ?

Anyway, we flew in early Friday, so we killed the day by going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame....it's a really neat place ! They currently have an exhibit about Jimi Hendricks...lots of info about his life, etc I thought about you, Steadygain :) They had several displays....including a couple guitars and his clothing....Man, he was a skinny dude !

....and talk about skinny.....the Mick Jagger stuff REALLY made me consider joining a gym, (but the feeling went away quickly, after looking at the Elvis display) :D

12% is right....the music from "back then" was magical.....

Stoplight...

Wow, thanks man - that's probably the greatest compliment ever!!

I'm pretty sure it was your post about my pioneer receiver. Well I was US Government property when I got my stereo system - so we had that in common. The first time I heard a system like that was in 76 - from a guy who returned from Germany - and I never heard sound so clear and full - I mean it was way beyond anything I had ever experienced before; so the next year I'm in Germany with a system that easily matched his. It wasn't until I worked for the State of North Carolina (many years later) - that I had a place out in the country with enough space to build the music room. It had to be a perfect square to get the speakers exactly spaced - so I built it 36' x 36' and put a storage area on the other side of the interior wall. It's hot in NC - but I couldn't have windows - as that would not be good for sound and the only door into the room was as air tight as possible and metal - to reflect sound. I believed if I really used a ton of insulation - I could keep the room comfortable. So I put a lot of insulation in the walls - then put in Thick dry wall - to reflect sound. In each corner I made platforms for the speakers so they were exactly balanced between the floor and ceiling - cut the dry wall to the exact size of the speakers and walled in each speaker so that each corner was angled to spead sound evenly. Then I got burlap and stretched it tight over the openings for the speakers and framed them - so no one could see the speakers - they only saw walls. I wired the room and did all the mudding and sanding. Then a friend helped me put Dry Wall on the ceiling and I blew at least 1' of insulation of top of that. Most people thought it would be miserably hot - but it was just the opposite - it was amazingly cool in the summer (CONDITIONED AIR) but no air conditioning. The speakers were arranged to give 4 stereo systems - all perfectly spaced and balanced. It turned out to be the greatest acoustical room I could have created - honestly - the sound was perfect and there was no way it could have been better. Of course it was detached from the house - out in the corner of our property - so no matter how loud you played the stereo (or the electric guitar) you did not distrub anyone in the house. As a teenager I thought how wonderful it would be to have my own place and be able to build "a music room" when I grew up - so it was one of my greatest aspirations. But if I ever grew up - it wasn't until recently (maybe in the last few years) about the time I turned 50. I guess I was never in a hurry to grow up and kind of liked the way I was. Even now my greatest lifelong dream is let Hendrix come to life - for everyone to enjoy - one last time (so maybe I never will grow up).

Well thanks for the post Stoplight - I spent a long time researching colors (and how they affected people) - how they honestly created an undeniable state before I decorated the room. Will tell ya all about it later.

I keep the oldies station playing on my computer at work, my boss hates it! screw him, it puts me in a better place. I read some posts the other day- someone talking about Crimsen and Clover, MAN that takes me back! The music today all sounds the same, no story, no message, NO TALENT!

This was the place that took you back - thanks for dropping by! :)

Yeal, I woud agree it gets pretty frustrating at times - it's like 20 channels of crap and I keep changing from one to the other. As a last resort I push CD - but I'm ready for something new. Although once in a blue moon a song will come on that just rocks and blows me away - then I'm transported to another realm that is very cool

A continuation from post #546 - The Music Room

I can't find the book "on Colors" - but it a Psychology book - showing how colors have an undeniable impact on our emotions and feelings - and that the right colors create and maintain a specific mood.

Dark Blue is that of tranquility - it produces a calm, peaceful state. So I got a carpet that was Dark Blue and covered the floor wall to wall. The carpet had various flourestent (sp) lines of purple, red, yellow and light blue several feet long scattered throughout - so it looked like these lines were floating on the water.

Blue itself is similar to Dark Blue - so as the floor brought the deep blue ocean and all the tranquility - calm - and peace it provides - so too was the ceiling brought the blue of the sky representing a very similar mood and always giving the underlying perfect condition.

Red is sexual and sensual - it is a very active color stimulating activity - bringing you to life.

Yellow is also very active (and does not show up well on this white background) - and so I used it as well.

Purple - as a background color - creates an openess - lets you naturally explore and dive into limitless possibilites and makes a feeling of true enjoyment.

So Purple was the color of all the walls - the framed burlap speaker openings - the inside door and the stereo cabinet I designed and built for that room. It was the over- riding background color.

On entering the room - the first wall you saw I painted a large red circle in the middle - probably 5' diameter - and from that circle I made a Coke Cola like red wave that went from that circle in both directions so that the wave went across the walled in speakers and continued across the left and right walls and ended on the wall where the door was - with a smaller circle about 2'-3' in diameter.

After painting all of this with 3 or 4 coats of paint - I finished by painting a thin line of yellow to border all the red. I wish I could find that book - to tell you exactly what mood I was creating - but whatever it was I ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE YOU THAT NO ONE WOULD BE ABLE TO STAY IN THAT ROOM AND NOT FEEL WONDERFUL.

After it was finished word got around and many came to experience it for themselves. Yanni's "Reflections of Love" came out about that time and I found no matter what you may have encountered in the real world - when you were in that room with that CD playing it was impossible to not feel calm, peace, tranquil and wonderful. So when one of my best friends came by with his wife - he told me his wife was not doing well - that her moods were terrible (a cycle she went through with no explanation) and she was having a difficult time. So I told him to bring her in the music room and I would have her sit in the middle of the room and play the Yanni CD. I promised him that within a few minutes she would be not be able to retain her bad moods -even if she tried. Well she heard this and thought what kind of Horse S### am I trying to say - how absolutely insane to think that putting her in that room would make it impossible for her to stay angry - mad - upset... So she went in the room determined to show me that I'm crazy and she will prove me wrong. My friend told me that within several minutes she had lost any trace of a negative emotion and she kept telling him - I can't hold on to them - even when I try. She made him swear he would not tell me "the truth" because at that moment she felt it would make her look like I was right - and she was too weak to overcome it. But that wasn't it at all, it was not weakness on her part - it was the undeniable impact of the colors in combination with Yanni's soothing music.

That's awesome. I Knew colors affected peoples mood but, I didn't realize to what degree. I painted my music room a shade of green because that's my favorite color.
