Steadygain's Account Talk

I am ready for the concert of concerts! That's why you need to let us know well in advance so we can get ready...to cause a good impression, make travel reservations from wherever in the world we may be at the time, I mean there will be a lot of planning involved.

Cornellia,
Today is bound to be a very hard one in many ways, a giant transitition - and I wish I was there to help fill the void. Throughout your life you strived to be your best and prove what you are made of. You go across the ocean to an unknown land at 17 and fully devote yourself to maintaining your independence and showing your worth - and you far exceeded everyone's expectations. Work is the one place where you honestly got some recognition for the long hours and the hard consistent effort. Your retirement party (with the flag) was the absolute maximum way those working with you could express their sincerest love and respect. When work is over (so to speak) your plate is so full at home that is seems you were burning the candle on both ends. Throughout all the years - you have been true to yourself and have maintained your health and more importantly kept your dignity and respect. In your youth you were the cement that held the crowd together and this is what you are - even to this day. This is the moment you have worked for your entire life - and no one has earned it more than you! Cornellia - be glad the door is finally closing and you no longer have to be concerned about the next contract and all the other things that the 2 (or 3) replacing you will eventually get done. You have way too much life to waste - and therefore YOUR RETIREMENT TIME WILL NOT GO WASTED AND EMPTY - instead you will adapt (as only you can) to your new environment and everything will be wonderful. When the concert arrives I will dedicate a song for you - called "Little Wing" and everyone there will know this is your song. This is by Jimi Hendrix and will be "my love song to you" and I will make it so much more beautiful than the song already is - and it honestly is a very beautiful song. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for all you have done for others throughout your life (and especially for me). I love you deeply and I have immense respect for all you represent - you are a very wonderful lady and only death could dim your beauty. Well - have a wonderful retirement - and I hope you find perfect peace and contentment in the years to come (and especially in the next few weeks and months).

Once again - Have a very happy retirement - and may God fill you (and all those close to you) with His richest blessings - and let your love and joy sail to new heights.

Steady,

Thank you very much for your words. Actually, I meant to say 4 working days till retirement, today it's 3 till Monday 31st. I'm impressed really, when I thought that no one listened to anything I said you seem to have memorized my autobiography :D LOL Retirement celebration keeps going on, friends taking me out to lunch, gifts, etc. Since last yr started mentalizing my retirement yrs, the peace & tranquility + being able to do so many things I want to do, and the list keeps growing, even though still wonder how it'll feel to not have to get up at 0500 anymore unless I really feel like it... On the good health I can say I was very blessed with it, I must add it was a godsend to be inquisitive about good nutrition and trad. and alternative medicine, it has helped me tremendously, and I find it very important to help others who could benefit from that knowledge.

So we're ready indeed for the concert, I just remembered I used to like Santana and "da Boss" when I heard this last one gave a concert recently. Not knowing the difference between the guitars I don't know who played what, all I know is that I used to like to dance to the rhythm of Santana's music. Thank you again, if I did anything for you it was not on purpose, but then again that's the way things happen. After reading your message about not posting until I read your message went back and found more than one I had not read. Comments will follow later.
Cornellia:cool::cool: 3 days to go

Mamikim and Cornellia are the wind beneath my wings; from the song, "did you ever know that you're my hero - you're everything I've waited for - and I could fly higher than an eagle - you are the wind beneth my wings".

They really do lift me up and keep me going and so I will continue with the events that have shaped my life and made me what I am.

If Mamikin and I are your heroes, I'm sure she feels as honored as I do.

In the end I was convinced if my life was to count for anything I had to completely surrender - and let Him take full control. So I got on my knees in a field and prayed the most desperate prayer of my life

Interesting that you had that experience at such a young age

But at the time this happended at my Grandmother's Farm in WV - I had pot plants hanging upside down in my closet at home in Baltimore - just waiting for me to get back and take the leaves/buds off the plants.

Here I had to admit I had a good laugh after I realized what you were talking about, as I was reading rather fast and tried to visualize "potted" plants hanging upside down and wondering how and why you left them in your closet, wondering if you felt so bad about them because you were an ecologist when the term hardly existed then and your plants, some flowering even, would die if you didn't get home soon enough! :o

But the most central and strongest root is the one tapped into God and in comparrison the others are nothing.
Thank you for sharing, what a beautiful testimony to share with us!

KC - I really appreciate the updates, and am thrilled you're doing better. One of the B/P meds is bound to be an ACE Inhibitor - which is very good for your kidneys, heart, and brain. Ask your doctor if there is anything you can do/ or avoid to keep those arteries good. Listen man I know you're anxious to make some money but you have to get your health squared away to enjoy it.

Dennis - of course I was 100% S Fund on that day (who wouldn't be)

Uptrend and I have a bit in common - we both came on the MB way ahead of the game and we both have this policy about being greedy. Since I acquired a fortune in 100% S Fund for the past week or so, after the 1+% Gain yesterday - I decided enough is enough - anymore is too greedy and I deserve to lose for not locking the gains. I'm ending the year over my annual goal - so I'll probably stay in G Fund. KC - for your sake I'll hope the S Fund has a few more really good days - but usually when I'm in G Fund it kind of cool to watch the markets take a hard hit. Time will tell but either way it makes no difference to me.

Well take care everyone - Peace, Love, and Happiness to all.

If I did anything for you it was not on purpose, but then again that's the way things happen.Cornellia

Cornellia,
You have to be careful how you word yourself (as everything you do is very much a deliberate action). If there is anyone who personafies a purposeful existence - IT IS YOU - and you never say anything that is not on purpose. You first joined my thread when I described why I choose Jimi as my Atavar, and strongly made known that my race made no difference - and how much you appreciated my posts. When I mentioned making my life goal of knowing the brain through and through by a 10th grade teacher's challenge of seeking my deepest potiential - you made a very purposeful comment. When I told everyone my favorite meal (with Niki) - you are the one who said how much you loved that story. Here I do not want to take from others - AS MANY ON THIS M.B. also shared very encouraging comments. The fact that you use the name I gave you - is purposeful (and wonderful). Many of the posts reveal we have a wonderful relationship (#179, 183, 190, 194, 205, and others). Even when I took Mamikin to the concert (as my girl) - it was you (and the others) that made that night so special. Mamikin thought of you, and you in turn allowed her to ultimately enjoy me and without your wine and company - she may not have melted into me with the song Crimson and Clover as she did.

Well - anyway I've got patients waiting and need to run. If you meant it was not on purpose that we got to know each other that I would agree with - it was just a random connection on a huge MB - but it's been nice and I certainly appreciate you. If you are getting leary about me - DON'T; I'M JUST BUILDING THE BACKGROUND - what I am now will put you at ease (in other words I am not a teenager persuing a fantasy lover - SO RELAX) - you will come to know the whole picture in the months to come.

China gives strong warming regarding future rate cuts
Further cuts in US interest rates would have "harmful effects" in the dollar and the international finance system according to a Chinese Official - as reported in China's official newspaper.

BOTTOM LINE: This will cause others to abandon the dollar based markets and invest in other markets.

Financial markets closely watch OFFICIAL CHINESE comments on the dollar because any change in China's investment strategy could affect the exchange rate - since Beijing keeps the better portion of 1.4 Trillion reserves in US Treasury Securities. (That amount of money makes the Billions the Fed has dished out look like a grain of sand on a large beach).

MY TAKE ON ALL THIS: I think Uptrend has the most realistic short term investment strategy (which is going into the I Fund for a brief period). In the long run (at least in 08 - I see our Markets going down and the I Fund tumbling as well). So for now I'm set for 100% I Fund - when Uptrend gives the green light.

Wow, a much better sleep last night - and that makes all the difference in the world. Cornellia, please just ignore my last post, as I surely misinterpreted what you were communicating and was a bit to sensitive or guarded or whatever...but today didn't read it that way at all. :o
This message is on an entirely different level, especially with me. I would expect this kind of comment from a musician at heart and also one who really knows what makes a high grade supreme guitarist (and so I could easily see Wind Hunter saying this). You have obviously made a wonderful impression on me - that is probably what you meant when you said it wasn't on purpose, but the more I see the qualities that make you what you are the more I admire you. For now I'll expand on Santana's guitarist - who is definately one of the best to ever live. Forgive me, but here I need to touch a little on my business (THE BRAIN). The conscious level is the last little bit of filtered information that has been processed and filtered over repeatedly and finally that last little bit emerges to the surface - to form what becomes for most guitarists THE BOX that defines their skills and ability. Wind Hunter describes "a spiritual state" in his music room - when he was playing on a very great level and in that moment recognized he was indeed a high level supreme guitarist (and this is because he was playing on a subsonscious level - which far surpasses any other). This is ultimately what distinquishes Santana's guitarist; he plays on a subconscious level and does it with style; he plays without boundries and often plays on a complicated and rather difficult and advanced level - but the most important aspect is the way he does it. Like me - he holds and plays the guitar as though it embodies beauty and love - he becomes one with his instrumet and you can tell more than anything else he is a lover and throughly enjoys the union he has with the guitar and this is seen in how richly he blends with the rhythm of the band. He stands out to me because he is not trying to play on the "speed freak level" like so many others - but rather he is way more bent on flowing with a rhythm that others can enjoy - and yet at the same time he also does some speed freak stuff. I was thrilled to read this because my ultimate goal is playing a rhythm that moves everyone, a rhythm that is irresistable - that the mind and heart are naturally drawn to - and that the body can't help but move (dance) to. This is where so many guitarists (and bands) are missing the boat. Too often it's built on wooo and dazzle - for the mind to kind of trip out on - but deep down most of us want to enjoy a good rhythm that we can sway and move to - and the more we move (and here I mean really dancing - shaking it up babe) the better. So the bottom line is: if you like Santana's music and it can take you over and cause you to move around - You would absolutely be blown away with Fog Sailing, Wind Hunter, and me. This was probably the biggest inspiration I've had in ages - THANK YOU!!;)

Right on Steadygains,

I have always been a huge fan of Santana. His use of exotic scales and melodic phrasing are absolutley beautiful. He does not have the "Guitar Gunslinger" attitude that Yngwie and others have. But has the abiltity to shred with the best.

You have obviously made a wonderful impression on me and the more I see the qualities that make you what you are the more I admire you.

WIND HUNTER - that quote is for you; you are a very cool dude!

To all other MB Members/guests: Uptrend went 100% (L2040) today - but I decided to remain 100% G Fund. His idea of going into I Fund sounded like a reasonable move - but (1) I need a better feel before moving out of safety (2) I am very content with my current amount and gain for this year and (3) the G Fund is the only one with guaranteed returns and is by far the most hassle free. (4) The last thing I want is to end the year on a bad note and there is too much chance our present volitility could drop 1% on 12/31 no matter what happens today. So to me it's not worth trying to grab a few more thousand - when you could just as easily lose it.

Your capital preservation post reminds me of the old Lawrence Welk hit back in the early '60s called "Yellow Bird". Now clucker that's just a pun.

In some ways I am way too rigid - especially with money - but in the long run I always surpass my goal. I start each year with a TSP figure that can only be achieved through well planned ITFs - which have fortunately worked out very well. It is more this rigidness - this absolute refussal to miss the goal that keeps me in G - so this year was way too close.

Steady, trying to catch up on my reading of the MB:

I wish I could tell you about the various Missions . You would like them way over the room incident. ---- I am sure I would but I know that must be TS/SCI and you cannot tell us and we wouldn't want to know because of it.

So I go up there expecting a jeep - and at contact time this space age helicopter comes in - coolest thing I'd ever seen and that was my ride.
---- sounds like a LB.

In a huge sense I felt I was over the platoon Sgt. because all he knew was I got the job done, but he had no clue what I did and he would just have to wait to tell me about the next one. It was a very big honor for me - the greastest compliment they could ever give me is giving me a chance to prove myself.

What an interesting career, as everything that has to do with those guys.

As for music (guitar) - you only know about what Hendrix means to me and therefore your knowledge is limited to the electric side. It's funny because some have asked me what my music would be classified as and I never really thought of a class - it is simply music that flows from me and the lyrics flow with it. If I can find a way to send you a song over the internet - I would be honored - for you and anyone else.

Speaking of your music and your blending with Mamikin on Crimson and Clover, I knew I had heard it before, so I did some research and realized that I used to like a version by Simon and Garfunkel, but in retrospect I used to like Fleetwood Mac's rendition even better.

I used to like most of Santana's music but my favorite for many yrs to dance to was Black Magic Woman, it's something you can dance by yourself if you want to, just moving around the room feeling the music & following the rhythm and no one cared who was dancing with whom at parties or plain get togethers. If you find a way to send us some of your music I'm sure we would be very honored, and that Mamikin, Wind Hunter, FS, Dennis FAA, Paladin and all the friends in our group will be thrilled to be part of or plain attend the concert.

Cornellia
