Rod's Account Talk

Dude,

You and I started 60C/40S for the year.

I have made 8 IFT's this year.

My YTD is 16.2%

I should have just let well enough alone.... NICE B&H Strategy....

Hey Rod, looks like you've joined the Birchtree gang? Haven't you been over there long enough, it seems like forever?

Looking @ my IFT records, my last IFT was Nov 2009.

I guess I am not a very good role model for our logo... HA!

Yeah, I have made ZERO this year... and don't plan on making anymore anytime soon.

I hope to end the year +20%. That would be my best ROI yet.

BTW, the primary reason as to why I B&H for 2010 is because I was deployed to Iraq Dec 2009 - Jun 2010.

I most certainly understand, I had the same problem in 2007-2008, I had no problem getting into TSP.Gov I just didin't have enough time to do any market research. Plus with the time difference I felt like I was on another planet, out of sync with the market and its directions.

Yeah, I learned my lesson in 2006 when I attempted to follow the market and make IFTs while I was at the NCO Academy. That cost me to finish 2006 @
-3.27%. I vowed never again to make an IFT unless I am able to give Mr. Market my full, and undivided attention.

According to my downloadable TSP Tracker, I finished 2010 @ 21.16%.

That's my best yet in the TSP. Hopefully 2011 will be half as good!

Congrats on that TSP return MSgt Rod. Also on your successful return from deployment.

I heard a rumor you are retiring this year. Congrats and good luck with that too.

Happy New Year.

Indeed, we're glad you are back safely and moving into a new exciting phase. There's excitement and then there's excitement. The upcoming phase sounds a whole lot more exciting in a good way, congratulations on the B&H strategery too, well done.

If I wish you a Happy Birthday four days after the fact, will that mean it lasted through the weekend, too?
I do hope you took the wishes/advice of the five timely fellows above & did have a Happy One with your family !! :D

Hello All,

Long time... no see. A belated thank you for my 2011 birthday wishes! I've been in a buy-n-hold pattern since I bought in near the bottom of the 2008 crash. This has been my performance:

2009:

4.95%

2010:

21.16%

2011:

-0.28%

2012 (YTD):

17.59%

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my buy-n-hold strategy. I am now looking to invest in gold. If anyone has any experience with Goldline (or another), please tell me how satisfied or dissatisfied you are/were with them.

Thank you, and God Bless. :)
