Riddle Me This

Oh yeah, that's right, now I need to come up with one myself.

OK, how about the most famous riddle ever? It is the sphinx's riddle that would rise Oedipus up before his fall. Here it is:

It walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon and three legs in the evening. What is it?

I'm not guessing. That is too easy. This is not hot potato! You get to reign for a while.

My dog loves to prance around on four legs in the morning. Begs for scraps on his two hind legs by the table at noon. And, goes on three legs to water his favorite plant in the evening.

Yes nnuut, one is a stick and rcknfrewld got the answer, though I must say I liked ebbnflow's modern take on the answer.

Here is the original answer for those who have been out of school for too long like me:

The answer is man, for in the morning of his life he crawls as a baby, in the noon of his life he stand tall upon two legs, and in the evening of his life he hobble with the help of a cane as his third leg.

Easy riddle yes, but being so well known I figured it belonged close to the beginning of this thread.

if i'm wrong, oh well, it wouldn't be the first time for that.

if i'm right, then this one i'll have to let ride for a few. my data connection is down and i'm not gonna hang out in the parking lot of the truck stop all weekend just to get service for free. although it wouldn't be the first time for that either.

but that was just wrong.
