Pyriel,

I notice you are now dollar cost averaging on the way up - isn't that just too easy?

Actually it is the smart way to gain ground - lock in gains behind you and keep adding to your current positions. Basically the same with allocation contributions - much easier than pulling out the pistols and blazing your way to the top. Good luck.

I really don't know what you are talking about:(... I am one lost puppy in need of serious guidance. Some people had been doing that and I just keep messing it up. :X

Me thinks that the baby typhoon will turn into big fat typhoon. Should keep the market down for a couple of days. C fund is down .22 since its high on 9 Sep. S fund is down .40 since its high of 2 Aug. I fund is down .12 since its high on 7 Sep.

Question is should we wait a couple of days to buy in more shares or do it incrementally now... Decision, decision, decision...

Pyriel, just an observation, when Katrina hit the gulf on Aug. 26th, the S fund dropped almost 1%. Knee-jerk reaction? After that it went up, even when it hit Louisiana. As did the C fund. I'm hoping that yesterday was just another knee-jerk to what Greenspan said. Hoping anyway...................

MM,this time is a little different from Katrina, me thinks.Me think stoxwill still be downThursday when Rita hits land. We'll see ifstox correct themselves on Friday.

I've been noticing that hurricanes (typhoons)have been forming in a closer year grouplately. I live in what wecall typhoon alley and weused to see super typhoons (Cat 5) every8 years, then 5 years and lately every three years. Not sure if it has something to do with the ozone layers being depleted but I am beginning to believe that theory.

Having said this, would anybody consider building theirhomes that can withstand a direct hit cat 5 hurricanes? It mightbea little bit more expensivebut the security itgives you during this time is priceless.I'm just thinking out loud here...

I am 500 yards from the ocean on the East Coast FL and I spent the day yesterdaylooking at safe rooms on the internet to get some ideas. I missed the big one last year by 4 miles. I live in a town home so my options are limited, A safe room is the best I can do.

Knee-jerk reaction....yeah that's what it is. This is fear kicking in. I may have missed an opportunity to buy low here, but I seriously doubt this will be a long lived downward move. I just hope I can get my new contibutions in before it moves up too far. In any event, I like the longer term picture.

Sorry but what is a safe room? Is that the same room that I watched from a movie with Jodie Foster? Dang, what is that movie?

Oh yeah... Thank you...

Katrina will not hit land until Friday night/Saturday early morning. Me thinks that stox will just keep falling. They also said that it might become cat 3 by the time it hit land so Monday Friday might be the best time to shop for cheap stox (c & S).

BTW, Instead of sending the trackers on the weekend (my time. remember I am one day ahead of you), I will be sending them out Friday my time instead. The reason is that I have a fast connection here at work vs. my 42kbps at home. Goodluck... There are more than 60 of you receiving them now...

c&s funds went up Thursday and Friday as Rita was down graded. Hope to see some gains on Monday and for I fund to follow big on Tuesday. This is usually the case. Jumping to I fund on Monday is tempting but c&s looks promising for the week. Decision, decision, decision.

Greenspan just said that homeowners have built large equity in their houses that they should be able to withstand any drop in the housing market (bust). Hope this helps for tomorrow's new home sales report for tomorrow. We have 4 more days of this volatility for September. Can't wait for October to start (crossing my fingers).

Pyriel---

Since it's the beginning of a new quarter, could you add me to your list of tracking that we have going here :).

Maybe my luck will change for the better if everyone knows my moves .

Currently, I'm 50% G, 25% C, and 25% S. I guess this will be effective Tuesday.

Thanks

ou81200, OK... Please create an account so that I can follow your moves...

Going 50g25s25i before 1200 est Tuesday, 4 October 05. S fund is gaining everything they lost since 2 August 05. Me thinks S & I is the stox to play for Q4. If Asia is really down today, i'd most likely increase my I allocation a little bit more.

Tom's been telling us that this was going to happen for awhile now. We were also due for a breakout one way or the other. I was betting that it would be up and got burned in the process. That's Ok, next time I'll get it right.
