Pyriel Account Talk

Nnutt, squalebear, Gilligan, and TSPGo... TY and i'm glad that you all are sticking around to keep this site going and helping others. LOL so the rules have changed huh? Two IFTs per month. What a bummer... I've pm the moderators and they seemed to have brought me back into the system after dropping off since November due to deployment. Hopefully, they can put me back in the long term comparison so that I may know how i'm doing with these new strategy i'm using. Strategy is still the same which is 100i till first week of June then will go to G fund for 2-3 months before going back 100% to stocks.
Its only May and we seem to have been gaining those that we lost within the last couple of months. However, seasonality seems to show that we are losing steam and will be seeing a drop sometime soon again. Sorry, can't log on as much but i'm really happy that our membership continue to increase. This deployment is teaching me a thing or two and my outlook in the future has changed and that is to be patient and to look at this investment strategy as a long term goal.
Good luck and please don't follow me for i really don't know what i'm doing...

Pyriel

Welcome back Pyriel, thanks for your service to our country. Yes we are still hanging in and trying to make the best of it. Two IFTs and an escape to the "G" is rough. Don't know If the tracker will help you today, it seems to be having a child or something? Multi listing of the same members. I'm sure that Ocean will have it fixed in a Jiffie!! See Ya around!

Tnx for the update Nnutt,
i've read Tom's daily comment and loked at his seasonality analysis so I will be jumping to the G fund before 1200 hours 3 June. Actually my wife will do it since I will be on a mission. I know that i'm supposed to go into the automatic tracker but i'm just not able to get that dang thing started. I hope this will suffice... I will most likely jumped back in to stocks at or around August timeframe.

Moving to G fund before 1200 hours 3 June 08.

Just got back from a long mission and i give up trying to move my funds for this year. I'm still 100i fund grrrrrrrr. I'll stay this way for the rest of the year till I get out from my deployment. cya...

Hi Guys...;)

I finally made it back. It seemed that the market crushed me while I was out playing GI Joe;) I never got out of the I fund;(

EW thanks for not kicking me out of the tracker, lol, although maybe you should have since i've lost 44% since Jan lol...

I'm glad that this site is still alive and kicking. I have lots of reading to catch up with. I guess what I want to know is how are we doing the market timing now that we can only trade twice a month?

Missed you all.... I wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Norman, Scout, and justbizness45 Good day to you all...
I was watching the news last night about what has happened with the $700B bailout stimulus plans. The bank industry got a good dose of that but the question I have is that what are they doing with it? Are they giving out more loans? If they are, how? Banks made it harder to borrow money, so we can dismiss millions of people that lost their homes and business since they can't pass the credit worthiness test.

Now, we just bailed out the US auto industry with several billions of dollars. It's funny that we let them borrow $14b but GM alone pays $4b every year to their retirees..

With all these money floating around, does anybody know how we can get a slice of the pie?

If you want a slice of the pie simply continue to DCA into your TSP account - better days are ahead. It's never a good idea to fight the Fed. The stock market will rule again.

Hi All!!!
It's been awhile since i've been here:) Lots have changed, I see.
I see some of the old timers are still here. I'm glad to see that...
Jim, thank you for sending me that email a year ago lol... As you can see, i finally got around to reading it.
Some update with me;)
I was 100% I before I went to Mob station then Afghanistan in Nov 2007. I didn't come back until end of Dec 2008. There was no connectivity where I was at and as you already know, market tanked that year. I finally switched from 100% I to 30/30/40 C/S/I on 20 Feb 2009 and have stayed there till now. Not mentioning this for tracking purposes but to show that i've been out of the loop in managing my TSP account. In fact, even though i continue to contribute the maximum allowed I don't even know my current balance tsk tsk tsk...
Real estate is doing well and have grown. 1 residential house, 1 eight unit rental apartment, 4 rental houses, 1 bldg (overseas) with 11 rental units/1 mini-mart(owned)/1 house(whole 4th floor), 3 rental unit(overseas), & 1 condo (overseas).
Work is also great. 1 1/2 years left and I am eligible for retirement.
I have a couple of businesses that I want to open up, however my plate is full right now so it will have to wait until I retire.
Thanks all and i'm glad that TSP TALK flourished while I was gone. Very impressed!!!;)

Good to hear from you stranger, sounds like you're sitting pretty and your eventual retirement will be a prosperous one, good Job.:D

It is good to see you, safe & sound! You were giving 'lessons' on being in the Real Estate business...any chance of continuing giving hints in that field? You obviously have the talent for making it work......:D

OMG! Logged back in on 2013 after being gone for a long long time. I am now just logging back in again. What brought me back? I finally got around to checking my tsp account;( Quite disappointing... Changed to CSI with 30/30/40 allocation since after the 2008 crashed and never touched it. Actually, totally forgot about it, even though I was contributing the max into TSP yearly. I was actually turned off with the transfer funds changed being limited to 2x per month. However, looking at the transfer allocations here by our faithful members, I am impressed that even with few transfers, members still made out better than leaving those allocations alone.

With TSP being a pillar of my 4 tier retirement plan(TSP, SS, military retirement, real estate), a closed attention to that particular tier is required. May 2019 is my projected retirement and this will make me 52 years old. Didn't quite hit the 50 year mark that I set out for retirement but being off for two years, I guess is not a bad deal. I do plan to post on how am I going to retire at age 52 since TSP and SS doesn't become available to me till age 60 and 62(yes, I plan on taking out SS at age 62;). I'll post later on my reasoning behind my madness.

For now, Thank you Jim for introducing us this place and its good to be part of this community once more. Luv ya all...

Great to see you posting again pyriel it's been a long time. Hope your Real Estate thing is going Gang Busters. I've been retired for 5 years now and still lovin' it! Looking forward to more of your posts. WELCOME BACK!
