Playing the I fund

If the dollar continues to strengthen this afternoon, and our markets continue to tumble, we could easily be looking at an -FV, especially since I don't think we've seen one in a while.

... we've already reached a point to warrant a 5 cent -FV, let's hope it doesn't get up to 10 cents.

I've never seen a -5 cent FV, so I doubt it. Have you Wheels?

As of right now, it's very close to a -10 cent FV. A little bit more down in the US market and it will be obvious. The dollar is not yet a factor.

Good deal, I appreciate you running those numbers. I can live with 6 cents

It seems it will be a bit more than a 6 cent loss, but 350 is the real pro at estimating.

I'm just glad I pulled out yesterday, believing we were topping out.

Now, I just have to figure out a re-entry.:cheesy:

Oh OOO!!! I funders lookout. The dollar is up even more than that. the combination of the dollar and the decline in the USM might equate to a -20 cent FV.

Why is the dollar up? Did we just attack Iran?

For the folks who are interested in the FV situation, here's how it looks.

S fund had a change of -.5%
C fund had a change of -.6%
the dollar went up .287% or - 6 cents.

Barclays might do a FV of -10 cents, at minimun, for a total of -16. Or they might include the change in the dollar, which is unlikely, for a total of -22. Or they might not do anything at all, since the change in the USM is right at .5%. It's very close IMHO.

I'll guess on a -10 FV for a total of -16 cents.

That was a 1.0% hit today including the .7% FV. As long as the global market is not down more then .7% the I fund price should hold even or increase tomorrow.

Nikkei 225 is down .32% and the Yen is continuing it's rise.

I agree. Part of the problem(or beauty) is that they inlcuded the change in the dollar. The dollar is currently up .360% or -8 cents. If the dollar reverses by tomorrow, it would definitely cancell out any sell off. In other words, the I fund is currently up 8 cents(includes a FV correction tomorrow).:)

Great sound analysis; as always Sir. :)
