Playing the I fund

A strong dollar is not helping. The action so far tonight is only 1/3 of the I fund, and it's already down 15 cents. In a few hours, Europe(2/3 of I fund) opens, and if they follow the Asians, it will hurt as much as Friday or worst if the dollar gets even stronger. I would expect Europe to open low and eventually track the USM in the morning.

I would normally look at this sell-off as a buying opportunity, but I believe the dollar will get stronger on Thursday. Unless the dollar shoots up significantly tomorrow pricing in Thursday's ECB/BOE's no change in policy.

Me thinks the dollar is going to 87 before the trend is reversed.

Wheels,

If you don't mind me asking, what did you decide to do today? Did you stay in?

I stayed 50 I/50 S. I'm thinking the I fund will rebound nicely tomorrow since US markets seem to be climbing towards the close. The S has been up several days in a row now. If it is up again tomorrow I will probably try to get out for a day or two as it is due a rest once again.

Well, so far, C fund is showing a change of .40% and S fund shows a chnage of .58%. A little bit more in the C fund and you might get your wish. If they do a FV, it'll be +10 cents.

Tech, I think you need to re-evaluate your assumption that FV's will come in 10 cent increments. I've been studying FV's for about 2 years now and I don't think history supports it. (Having said that, I'm sure that it'll be 10 cents today).

I agree with you about the S fund. Las night's sell-off in Asia might have been because of oil? I'm not sure how they'll react tonight, after another huge drop in oil today. That was another reason why I stayed out.

For tomorrow, I still believe the dollar will be strong and it might hurt the I fund. If that happens, I might jump back in the I fund, or maybe C fund.

Hmmm...market came back a little in the last few minutes. But you're right, I remember seeing a 22 or 24 cent FV a while back.

Btw, please don't call me Tech...:D

I'm still calling for 87 before we reverse the trend.....
