Playing the I fund

For those who find the EFA data "useless", wanted to provide data showing that bottom line, the EFA data does appear useless IMO if used for tracking on a daily basis.

I've attached a data file that shows both the Ifund and EFA fund plotted since January 2005. I normalized the EFA data (by a factor of 1/3) so there would be better granularity showing the differences.

Looks to me like the EFA tracks the trend of the Ifund very well but I'm seeing a much more jagged path for EFA. I think that means on a daily basis, the EFA and Ifund can be a fair amount different, so much so that using the EFA quote would be very misleading for day to day trading.

I could create a file that started from January 2006 til now which would show the jagged difference better but hopefully this will be clear enough. Let me know and I can fairly easily post one that is for a shorter (but still recent) time interval.

I haven't uploaded an attachment before so if it doesn't appear, I may have to do this again.

I was contemplating an FV move today based on the idea that the market will fall harder this afternoon. But I think it would have to fall very hard(maybe double the current loss). I dont think the overseas would reverse action so it would be just a smaller loss so why risk it. I just hate missing out on a dropping dollar and no gains here.

I didn't like the way Japn closed out last night. I agree the dollar will continue to fall but too much risk right now. Important EC numbers tomorrow.

"Catch the falling knife " anyone? How far wiil will it go. I think everyone will run for the door asap accelerating the fall. Or will people buy the dip again?
I think its time for Tom's pullback.
