I said I was going to post more about my vacation last month. Never got to it, been too busy getting ready for the next one.
The previous one was a something that came up late last year and grew from a long weekend to two weeks.
This one has been planned for over a year. I didn't get as much "stuff" from work about two vacations this summer as I thought I would in the end.
Th "real" vacation is a cruise to Alaska. Sounds great no? Fly to Vancouver, get on the boat, fly back, go to work. Mais, non. Take leave a week early, fly to Portland, rent a car, drive to Cannon Beach, Forks, Oak Harbor and Bellingham. Overnight stay each place. Guess who gets to drive and hump all those cruise bags in and out of hotels? On to Vancouver on a bus. Lot's of site seeing stops along the trip. Probably will have to hump all those bags out of the bus and open them at the border. Then put them back together. Neatly of course.
Finally on the boat a week after leaving home with two of wife's friends. Neither of which can lift luggage. Lot's of shore excursions planned. Dumped off in another week at Seward. Train to Anchorage then another rental car and drive to Talkeetna. More driving around with three old females. Who can never agree on ANYTHING. Something about a flight on an ill maintained antique aircraft to see ice that is melting faster than you can imagine. Drive back to Anchorage. Make sure everyone get's to the airport on time. Fly home. Go to work rested and ready.
Sounds like a great vacation for someone.
