Time of account updating?

Interesting- I’ve always watched the TSP balance after it’s been updated, usually around midnight. Sometimes a little later- but 90% plus it’s updated by about 1 am.

Today I just happened to go look earlier- and to my surprise, I found that my account for this day (April 15) was already updated with the new balance when I logged in at just after 10 pm. I was surprised. I didn’t think they updated that quickly.

Does anybody know- are they processing the data quicker these days?

I always wondered if they knew the new fund share value by 8 pm or do, why did it take four more hours to update accounts. And then today I see an updated account around 10 pm.

Anybody know when they are running the updates these days?

I check the TSP website share prices everyday because of the AutoTracker, but the only time I ever login to view my account is when I make IFT, so I'm no help.

Day before yesterday (4/14) I checked my TSP account at a about 6:30-7:00 pm PST -- that's about the same as and consistent with what you found yesterday I believe (MI is on EST if I remember right). I don't check daily typically but once in a while I have checked just before dinner at about around 5:00 - 5:30 pm -- I don't recall that it was ever updated on those occasions. So I';m guessing 9-10 EST?

Even though the TSP fund share values are known, I think they have to wait until all of the funds in the mutual fund window have been updated before posting TSP account balances.

I can actually confirm that the results (for me, reg funds only) on Feb 11 @ 1900 MST. I knew to look after making an IFT that the changes would be there, since I had noticed it some time before. I would suspect that they changed the timing at the beginning of the year.

Tonight:

Checked at 20:30 eastern time and- it was fully updated with today’s closing prices and balances.

Nice.
