nasa1974's Account Talk

For those folks that like to compare and crunch data this is a little late but here are the monthly returns for June. The information is provided by Govexec.com under their monthly retuns pick. Sorry this is late.

Here is the information for July. This is pretty ugly. I just hope the month of June can have a few days in positive territory because I do not think I want to be in the market for July. Of course the monthly averages for May and June were not that bad but May tanked and June is headed for a loss. So does that mean that since July is a lousy month that we will have a great trading month????? Dang crystal ball is in the shop.

Looks like today is turning into one of those maalox, tums and pepto bismol days. Add some more glue to your sticky pants because it is going to be bumpy. :( Peaks and valleys are crazy already.

Yesterday hurt. Good thing I wasn't around a computer to get depressed. In my real account I am -4.25% YTD. It is almost a dream to think two months ago I was a +13% YTD. DANG!!!

Robo found this article and I have adopted it's philosophy. There is really no other way to look at it, IMO.
No Fear!

"Since at least 1918, the stock market has experienced a substantial rally from the low in the 2nd year of every presidential administration to the high in the following year. That rally has averaged a gain of 50% for the Dow."

The actual study is even more interesting:

Thanks crws. But I am starting to feel like investor #2.

With all the posting I am surprised I didn't fall off the first page the last couple of days.

May and June put a real hurt on my account.
