nasa1974's Account Talk

Don't get me wrong I really liked yesterday's rally and I need 5 more days like yesterday to get me back to my high for the year. But reality can slap you pretty hard in the face sometimes. :worried: Good luck everyone.

Study rekindles debate over federal pay and benefits
By Elizabeth Newell enewell@govexec.com July 7, 2010

"A right-leaning Washington think tank once again has added fuel to the debate over federal employee pay with a report asserting civil servants earn significantly higher salaries and more generous benefits than their private sector counterparts, while enjoying far greater job security..."

Here is the link http://www.govexec.com/story_page.cfm?articleid=45637&dcn=todaysnews

Hence my leaning left tendencies... Why is it always the RW think tanks that go after their old job replacements??
I really wish there would be a definitive study that showed criteria of hiring by the GOV vs PS, including CS testing, actual pay, how mundane the majority of GOV work is, and really how committed most all FED employees are. Besides the PS churn, vs FED which costs the PS much more.
I don't know about the rest of you, but before Kraft eliminated our sales division  I had the best employer salary and benefits of my life!:laugh::laugh:

I know the market has only been open about an hour and a half. But if it was a stair master we would have one great workout so far. :D Sure hope it doesn't turn into a swimming pool slide. I do not want to get wet today.

I jumped out yesterday. I jumped in S fund monday, though the ride up tue and wed was nice and got out yesterday back into the G fund, I'm wondering though if I should've got in the F fund. Lately it seems get in on monday out on thur, not much of a strategy there though. All I need though is enough for my doublewide on the lake!

Afishegg, your welcome here anytime. With the market the way it has been it is difficult managing your account with only 2 IFT's a month. We do still have the ability to make the <1% move pretty much on a daily basis though. Yeah! Fridays have been pretty tough on the market. Today may break the trend. Good Luck.

Just tried the new TSP website. Logged on no problem and it sure gives you more information than the old one. Like how much I lost in the second quarter. :(

If I could hope for some good news today it would be that the market has a positive finish. Not asking for a huge amount, just a nice finish. See I am in training all day and won't be able to follow what is going on. Of course maybe that is a good thing. :D Have a great day everybody.

Training cut short. System wasn't allowing us to do some things.

Thanks crws, did nod or two right after lunch. Wife made a turkey dinner the other night with all the trimmings so I had left overs today for lunch. Was looking for the lounge chair for sure.:D

Sad day in the household today. We had to take our dog to the vet for the last time after 16 great years. Younger daughter taking it pretty hard. We got him when he was about two as a rescue (sheltie/collie mix). Could hardly walk or stand. Had to carry him outside all the time. Long night.

My best friend's family had a dog that mix... they are a great family dog.
Lost 2 of our own the last 2 years... it's tough no matter how you try to rationalize it. Sorry...

I don't have kids, so the dogs have always been it for
the Missus and I. I've got a pretty old one myself.

Feel for you bud.
