nasa1974's Account Talk

Good Morning,

I am not sure how long this has been posted but I just noticed it this morning. Below is the link to the FRTIB November meeting minutes. I do know that the December minutes where posted befor the November minutes. Anyway some interesting information for those that really like numbers.

With 2 trading days left for the month the market sure is doing everything it can to take away the current profits I have for the month. This is going to be tough to say because I am a Cavs fan, "GO BULLS".

Hey Nasa....on the <1% IFTs.

Check out post 10 in SB's <1% sticky/read only thread. I couldn't do option B. Same allocation.

My contributions hit last Wednesday night/Thursday morning...5% going into L2020. So Friday, before noon, I did a <1% to bring my L2020 up to a full 1%. Mondays action was basically flat so the percentages did not change. Before noon on Tuesday the day looked to be down so I figured I would do an IFT of 1% L2020 and 99% G to match my current allocation so that if there was a bounce Wednesday and my L2020 was 1.01% then today I could bump it up to 2%.

The system wouldn't let me. It said something about the allocation being the same so no changes would be made. When I hit OK I never got the confirmation page showing the IFT had gone through.

It appears the system will not take an IFT of the same allocation any more.

Thanks Kevin,

If that is true than it will affect the way I track my <1% option spreadsheet. Did you notice any changes in your TSP account today? That also takes away a nice way of balancing your account. Maybe they are starting to tweak the software to take away this loophole. Sure hope not. We will have to keep our eyes open.

Well I will finish just on the negative side today. Very lucky. The way the market started I figured I might loose about 2% today. Interesting finish. I guess all of us might be holding our breath tomorrow.

Attached is how March has looked since 1996. If it holds true to course this March should be positive. But the market has not been following trends lately. The information is courtesy of GOVEXEC.COM.

Well for what it was worth February closed out the month on a positive note. Monday should be real interesting. Mondays have typically been pretty positive and it is the beginning of a new month. Plus everybody gets two new IFT's. Hang on tight it is going to be a wild ride.

Well February is behind us and I think it surprised most of us. The S fund was the winner with C fund following right behind. The last two trading days pulled the F fund into positive territory. All funds finished on the positive side. (F .05, C .40, S .79 & I .01) Two months into 2010 their are only two funds in positive territory (I am not including the G fund) The two funds are S and F (F .26, C .08, S .39 & I .95). What will March be like? In like a lion and out like a lamb? Good Luck everyone.

In my real account I finished February with a postive 3.40%. If I can be this lucky in March I will have gotten back to my 2010 high point. Still 6% off my 2009 high point though. Fingers crossed. :D

Below are the totals through February from my <1% spreadsheet. The F fund is the leader with the I fund being the biggest looser. All funds started with $100,000.00 at the beginning of 2010.

Week ending 2/26
<1% $100,011.20 (GFCSI 56.92%, 5%, 13%, 12.98% & 12.10%)
80,5,5,5,5% $100,057.93 (GFCSI)
30,35,35% $97,070.91 (CSI)
G-100% $100,502.14
F-100% $101,803.60
C-100% $97,826.56
S-100% $100,390.90
I-100% $93,103.23

Well yesterday held up to "the first day of trading for the week" trend. 8 out of 9 have been positive. However today may be a different story. The second day of the week has been 50/50, 8 positive and 8 negative. Last week was negative, soooooo that means today should be positive???? Positive energy, positive energy, positive energy. Good luck everyone.

I leave work around 2:30 and the S&P 500 is a positive .73%. I looked at the market at 4:00 and what the heck happened???Talk about a rollercoaster ride at Cedar Point. DANG!!!
