nasa1974's Account Talk

WOW!! I feel like a prize fighter that has taken one too many shots to the head. According to the Tracker on 1/19 I was at +2.69%, seven trading days later I had fallen to a -3.34%. Sure can't afford to take a 10 count.

I have attached the monthly returns for February as posted by GOVEXEC.com. I thought January looked bad. February is worse for returns. Hope it helps.

Let's hope the lunch time bears take a break and the after lunch bulls take over. Prices looked good until 10:30 and the sell off started. DANG!!!

Let's hope today does not mirror Friday's market moves. Sure is starting out the same. :suspicious:

Good Luck everybody!! We need it.

January started out with a lot of hope and then the last two weeks dashed us up onto the rocks of dispair.

To quote poolman's blog "Must Be Monday" sure hits the nail on the head. Monday's have been pretty positive the last few weeks. Let's hope we can get a few more green days, low volume or not. Sure would be to add a few more dollars to the my TSP.
There has been some interesting chatter on Show-me's account about Friday. If true we could be in for a rude awakening and the market more than likely will respond with a huge negative response. But then again sometimes the markets reaction is just the opposite of what was expected. Of course Uptrend and Show-me talked about the financial reporting of 4th quarter losses the week of MLK and did I listen nnnooooooo.... The rest is history. I am climbing out of the deep hole I dug for myself, again!!!
Good Luck everyone. We sure could use some.

In my estimation you don't need any luck in this game - you need a nice pair of sticky pants, patience and some perserverence - remember where you are. You are in the beginning of a great bull market and the only way not to make money is to always seek capital preservation rather than capital appreciation. Follow the stampeding herd.

January was a tough month. Lately which month hasn't been, depending whether you have been sitting on the lily pad or not. Anyway! By mid month I was up almost 3%, but didn't read my own posts and hung in there looking to go over 3% and BAM I got hit right between the eyes. My own fault of course. The month ended down almost 4%. So yesterday was a good day. Not looking to recover all my losses this month (would be nice) but Fridays news looks a bit scary. :worried: Good thing I have a fresh 2 IFT's for February.

Birch, I love how you have the attitude that "the glass is always half full". I like the idea that we have a bull stampede and the herd must follow. However, I have to be cautious that I do not follow the lead bull right over the cliff. Have a great day.

Shaping up to be another nail biter today. 3:30pm can't come soon enough.:D

May the Force be with us.

Looking for some information. I have AT&T and I was thinking about upgrading to an iPhone. Any suggestions? Thanks.

They are nice...but I would wait a month or so for the techies to get done introducing the new lines. Every year the models sold at Christmas are way cheaper by spring.

While you're waiting, I'd recommend to anyone who has a landline phone to drop it and get an Ooma phone if you have broadband Internet. I did that over the holidays and love it, love it, love it. It's free (except buying the Ooma unit), it works perfect with your existing wireless phones around the house, you get a second free phone number if you want (with different ringtones), I get voice messages emailed to me at work, easy to block calls, etc.... We got the premier service for about $100/year and that gives you two lines at the same time and other features. Costco and Best Buy sell them, but Amazon is cheapest. Saved about $60/month by dropping our Qwest service and have no regrets..... I sounds like a salesman. :cheesy: http://www.ooma.com

This is an important time to be looking to save money wherever you can. The depression starts in T-minus 6 months and closing..... or right now if some of the technical gurus are right. :(

I know that the market has only been open for about a half hour, but we are getting hammered.
Congrats to those with the foresite to be in the G fund. :D
nnuut, do you have a spare airline???

There's still room in the cockpit if you want to ride. If the unemployment numbers jumps up like it may, HOLD ON TIGHT!:worried: airplane5.gif
