MrJohnRoss' Account Talk

Guess my clarity moment came in 2004 when Al Gore created this thing called the Hi-Speed Internet Connection:D and I started piecing together (at lightning fast speed) all the false info that got us into Iraq.

Excuse me, but there is a lot about that and other situations where you will NOT get the truth from the Internet. Take it from one who has access...

I think you would be very surprised

Edit: Though, thanks for the clarification of your political history, I have been curious for awhile.

Very surprised (but happy) to see the market continue it's advance today. I thought that we would see a pullback after last Friday's ~250 point gain. This is a good sign for continued strength in the market. Market internals may still be weak, so don't fall asleep at the switch.

Looking for TNA to go above 55 (or higher) before I hit the sell button. Currently at 53.16, so we're not far off. I'll then switch to TZA to enjoy the down cycle.

Good luck!

TNA almost hit 55 today...maybe it will in the last couple of hours. I moved to G fund today in my TSP for a quick break...

Good timing, as usual :D

Well unfortunately I don't own any TNA. I also don't own any TZA since I didn't feel comfortable with the move J's system gave due to the recent news driven market so I stayed in cash on my individual account. I made a little bit on my TSP this month and would prefer not to lose it...so we will see how tomorrow plays out.

Still holding my TNA, as I'm testing out a new trading system. I'll be looking for TNA to go above 55.26 before I sell. (That number changes daily).

I may create a spreadsheet summary of my trades for you guys, so you can see how I do. Hopefully I won't embarrass myself too badly.

RMI, since you're an expert on this, what's the best way to copy/paste an Excel spreadsheet into my stream? Thanks!

Select the Go Advanced button to bring up the full page message editor
Switch to WYSIWYG Mode (very important)
Go to Excel, select your cells, and select copy (CTRL-C)
Switch to browser, put cursor in your location for the table, and paste (CTRL-V)

Should be it... I hope :)

You are the best! I'm gonna copy these instructions, so I don't have to ask you over and over again. Thank you RMI.

Can I do Excel charts the same way?

;)

The target price for TNA dropped to 55.16 at the close. We actually tagged the line, and went slightly above it (High was 55.19). Tomorrow could be a reversal day, and could cause a sell signal for TNA and a buy signal for TZA.

Would love to see another nice up day tomorrow. Unfortunately, hoping and wishing won't make you any money.

According to Tom's SentimenTrader chart, seasonality says tomorrow should be a down day, with % of time positive less than 45%.

By the way, I think I want to be in stocks on the very last day of the month. If you don't know why, look at Tom's seasonality chart!

Good luck everyone!

Is there a specific reason you use the TNA and TZA ETFs? I'm new to the ETF game and there are seemingly thousands of options. Do you play the 3x small caps simply because it has higher volatility and is more of a short term play? How did you decide on Direxion? Thanks for any advice!!

Volatility is one of the main reasons I use these two, but also because my current model is based on these two ETF's. The amount of money you can make (or lose) can be breath-taking. Not for the faint of heart, so be careful.

I've also used TQQQ and SQQQ, (3x Nasdaq) or you could also use UPRO and SPXU (3x S&P500).

Good luck! ;)

As of noon Pacific, TNA is at 54.48. Although I could sell right now for a 9.8% profit, my model says wait until at least 55.48.

The old adage, "Bulls make money, pigs get slaughtered" comes to mind, so I am mindful of taking the sure money before it vanishes. However, this market still has the appearance of wanting to climb higher, so I'm gonna hang on to this wild bull a little longer.

Heh. Gulp.

I like how even though you use a model/system, you still grumble about when to get out. I do the same. The fact that I grumble each time gives me confirmation that I need to be using a system at all times.

Ditto what Craigerv said. But it also sounds like you think the risk is worth it, eh? And nice gains already - congrats on that!
