The stock has been punished pretty hard. 72 and change would be a good buy point, in my opinion.

Yes, possibly. I'm ground testing my new "system". I have a LOT of work to do. It appears that short term trades of 3 or 4 days can be very profitable. :)

It appears that the 72.XX mark has came. Hmm...

My MCD and JNJ stock stopped out today in my Roth IRA. I'm beginning to think I don't give my shares enough leeway and am too cautious on not wanting to lose any money. I have so much to learn about this stuff lol...
 
In all politeness - you sure do. Stops will stop you out of nice positions every time. If you own dividend paying stocks use the low price points to DCA into more shares.

Agree. Build up your dividend stock portfolio, but don't sell. If your buy price is good, and the stock drops, buy some more if you can.

Thank you for both of your insights! I will definitely not continue making these mistakes. I think right now in my early investment stages recognizing my issues and correcting them is the most important thing. As long as I fix my mistakes I should continue to do much better.
 
My current timing system would have triggered a sell signal this morning. Even though it's not finished yet, my new system is saying to stay in. So, I'm going to continue holding 100% S for the time being.

Meanwhile, the work goes on, crunching different combinations of calculations until I'm satisfied with a system that I can feel confident about. One thing I know for certain... without having a crystal ball and knowing the future, there will never be a 100% perfect system. You just have to tilt the odds in your favor. And the more you tilt them, the higher your probability of winning.

Gee, I guess you're right. One should never try to improve their system. Yours must be 100% perfect, right? ...*dripping with sarcasm*...

Honestly milkman, why do you insist on coming here and insulting me? What have I ever done to you? Are you jealous? Or just stupid?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; please just go away, and don't bother ever coming back. Next time I won't be so polite.

Guilty conscience? I was saying that you said the same thing about your current system and just because it's going through a rough period, you seem to be coming up with a new system, not "improving". Sorry I struck a nerve, just trying to tell you probably shouldn't just quit something that has worked well in the past because it is going through a rough period. We all have them.

Just trying to give constructive criticism, don't blow a fuse. Of course, you come across as having all the answers, so why bother right? ;)

Why do you care what others do so much? Several people on this forum have stated they want nothing to do with you, but yet you still come back to stir the pot some more. As I've said in the past, I haven't seen any worthwhile contribution from you to this forum. All you do is try to get people to buy into your "service". Go troll elsewhere, because once again, you are not wanted here. What John provides is appreciated by many.
