MrJohnRoss' Account Talk

This is probably an extremely prudent thing to do. This is, and will continue to be, a high profile legal/news event. If it was me, watching others profiteer off my murdered loved one's name would be sickening. We know slogans will repeated, merchandise will be sold and books will be written. Staying legally in front of the curve will be crucial for her legal team...a team that I imagine is no newbie to high profile cases.

Hello, this is Birchtree's conscious. Sorry, but it seems I've gotten myself in a bit of a sticky wicket. Keep cheering on the market, and I'll be back soon to lend a hand.

That is all.

I would have thought we would have gotten a decent pullback after yesterday's roman candle. But it was hardly a spit in the bucket. The market just seems red hot right now.

AAPL is now trading near 620. Seems like just yesterday it was shocking news to see it touch 600.

"This runaway freight train is gathering a tremendous head of steam. When mom and pop begin reading their newspapers and see that the markets are going gangbusters, then even more money will come into the markets to chase prices higher. Better get on board now, or get left behind. Snort." ~ anonymous :toung:

Gosh, if I didn't know any better, I'd say Birch got himself reincarnated. :toung:

Thanks for the "Like" jpcavin! You're lucky #100! You should get a prize or something...

Someone's gotta play the part of BT, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Lolz.

Hot stock tip alert:

Got the "Chuck Hughes Microcap Report" in the mail the other day. Here's what it said...

"New all-natural zero-calorie Stevia sweetener now approved for use worldwide, and sales are skyrocketing! Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Kraft, Nestle... they're all on board! My advice: Get in now; this is huge! I belileve that budding U.S. grower Stevia First Inc (STVF) could pay 12 to 1 this year, sending $2,500 to over $30,000!"

Ok, so yesterday STVF was up over 27%. Bought some shares this morning at the open at $2.06. It's now trading at $2.57, up another 32% today. Thought you might want to take a look. ;)

Good luck!

I am curious when you buy into a specific stock how many shares of it do you normally buy? I'm guessing it has to do with the stock price, but on a cheap stock like this how much do you normally put into it?

If you don't want to answer the question that is fine, but I figured I would ask. Thanks!

Since I am nearly fully invested in the market, I didn't have much gunpowder left. I bought a few hundred shares. Thinking of lightenining up on T triple Q and buying a few hundred more of STVF, if the price is right.

This is a high risk, high reward play. You may want to consider only investing an amount that wouldn't give you a heart attack if it imploded. Remember to keep your trailing stops in place, too.

Good luck!

Thank you for your input. What do you base your stop on? Like if you buy something at $2.00 where would you normally place a stop to sell?

Sorry for all of the questions, but I appreciate it!

For a volatile stock, I would sell if it dropped more than ~15%. It might make you a very unhappy camper if you saw to see it drop 50% or more while you're still holding it. :(

Based on the report I read, there is a lot of upside to this one. We shall see, won't we?

Good luck!

I see and I hope for a nice upside with you as well since I just bought 360 shares of it lol. This is the largest amount of shares of one stock I have bought before and I've been wanting to find a cheap stock to try this play on so hopefully this stock will continue to rise.

Thank you for sharing the tip on this stock. I called USAA since their website wasn't allowing me to place a market trade and it made me do a limit trade. I ended up buying in at 2.62. I wish I could of bought in this morning like you, but oh well. The lady I spoke with said this stock is traded on the open market or something. I am now trying to setup my stop and USAA's site is saying stops aren't allowed to be setup on this stock...wtf.

Were you able to setup a stop with whatever site you go through? I'm really considering getting away from USAA for my investments because they seem to be limiting me too much on what I want to do. Who do you go through if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks again.

Here's a look at the New York Stock Exchange Advance Decline line. Looks like we'll be breaking the long uptrend line today, and may be going sideways. Keep your eye on that 97.5 level as a key test of support. As Tom said, the next few days could be especially weak, due to seasonality.

I use Fidelity and Schwab. Both allow percent stops or dollar stops, your choice.

Hope we both make a few bucks on this one.

Good luck!
