Should clarify the cartoon above.

I hope this is not what all the people rushing into stocks for Monday Triple Witching day feel like at the end of the day on Monday.

That is what that meant. No intent of offending ya Dog.

I believe the shorts covered last hour of the day and went long.

t

That is what I did too.

Once again. I can see now where that cartoon could offend.

I meant to say: Hope we do not feel like the cartoon on Monday at the close.

I do not like to run with the herd but money will be hard to coin soon.

Got to take some chances now. :D

Investopedia sez:

An event that occurs when the contracts for stock index futures, stock index options, and stock options all expire on the same day. Triple Witching Days happen four times a year: thethird Friday of March, June, September, and December. This phenomenon is sometimes referred to as "Freaky Friday."

The final trading hour for that Friday is the hour known as triple witching. In this final hour, the markets are quite volatile as traders are quickly offsetting their option/futures order before the closing bell. If you are a long-term investor, then triple witching has a minimal impact on you.

Also, The Kirk Report sez:

A Tough Monday
The market is not acting well, especially considering that we've been seeing a bullish tilt on the first day of the trading week. In fact, even the Stock Trader's Alamanc points out that the Monday before triple-witching Firday the Dow has been up 8 of the last 12 years. Nevertheless, one saving grace for the bulls is that trading volume remains quite low, showing that conviction for the upside and downside remains muted, at least for now.

I know this is last years but I'm do'n the best I can. Roll'n the dice!

With little economy news on Monday this is a good roll of the dice.

However with theeconomicnews the rest of the week :shock::shock:.

Like I mentioned the trade balance report showed a spike in inflation.

The "experts" saw that after the first spike on the lower then expected trade balance number. The all sheet action we saw......today - when they saw the inflationary numbers :s.

You can see it clearly here - the great number (57B???) then they read the report and the retreat:
t
Last hour was short coverning ahead of triple witching monday (I hope :P).

Good luck. I will be bailing to G fund cob Monday. If it goes up then my bad but the PPI/CPI should be stinky. However, as we can see by the creative accounting (like I fund) who knows what the numbers will say?

But I would say the last hour on Friday was a good sign.

There will be little chance to mint coins moving forward, IMHO. :D

I just hope we do not have a spike to noon and a sell off (again).

I made a bad call on Sunday when I thought the C and S fund would be down for the week. I did not know brother Magoo was out stroking it to Congress on Thursday. My bad. Got F and I fund correct and 10 year over 4 again but that is not good enough. Greenspans timing was perfect, huh? 10 year treasury auction day have been some of the biggest down days of the year. The DOW down 191 was on the 10 year auction day. Sunday no testimony. That was an add on, I believe. I did not see it on the schedule when I was doing my weekend analysis. Very, very creative to have him pumpingon the 10 year auction day. House of cards?:D

Amazing - he sees no inflation - trade balance report comes out the next day - huge spike in inflation. Greenspan is a super hero - The BS Shoveler. :D

and you hear NO ONE on TV bring that up. Less then 12 hours later - yes Shoveler there IS inflation. The trade balance report is the most current thing going.
