Jkenjohnson's Account Talk

In 1973 I was working in the operating rooms at Shands Teaching Hospital. The first stock I ever bought was Martin Marietta - made money and sold it reinvesting the gains into a stock called Electronic Memory Magnetics and promptly lost money selling with my initial grub stake returned - then I started over. All my experience is cumulative from many years of trying to learn the game. Now I'm set to make millions my friends. Snort.

Well, I was only making a point as the Military has only had access to TSP since 2000 I think.
Understand perfectly RMI, was just pointing out the same.

I was in 1st grade...
That makes you almost old too. I am a little bored this afternoon and think one of us should start a thread in the lounge entitled something like "old farts v other farts". We can swap jabs in good fun.:notrust:

Thanks for that OC chart.

Mr Johnson, no more hijack, the thread is once again yours.:cheesy:

No problem. I enjoy the banter.

The futures are not too bad right now. I'm not sure how these elections will affect the market but I am still on a buy. Any thoughts?

Seems that the futures have improved substantially overnight. At first I thought the floor was falling out, but now it appears that today will not be so bad. I am hoping that today is a bottom to the recent dip, and we move up a couple percent this week so I can get out having bought in at a discount! Fingers crossed!

Sounds like a good plan. Hope it works.

Well, the day is not over but it appears that I skipped over the trap door at the moment. Now looking for a little range trading love : )

I guess I jinxed the 0.34% gain yesterday. We ended up .21%. But hey, it's better than the 1-2% losses we have been seeing. Looks like futures are down this morning. Media is blaming Greece again (what's new - I'm so sick of Greece this, Greece that, I wish they would just fold and back out of the EU). I am supposed to go there for vacation in Septemeber. Maybe it will slide into the ocean before then (just kidding). The market needs a strong catalyst to move higher, but I don't see anything in the near future. Any comments or suggestions?

System is 8.34% YTD.

I got a sell last night. Not sure if I will act on it because it usually flips back within 2 days and I will be out of IFT's.
